Has anyone watched The Devil's Hour (Britbox)? It stars Jessica Raine, who was the star of the first season of Call the Midwife. She's a single mom, social worker whose son, Isaac, is completely devoid of emotions. She and he seem to be able to remember the future. Peter Capaldi is the mystery man who seems to know what's going on. I'd never heard of it until Season 2 dropped and it's apparently already been renewed for a third season. It's very creepy, with a strong British crime drama component.
On bluesky you say britbox, on threads you say netflix. I didn’t find it on either platform .  It seems to be Prime.  I am dog watching and they have prime so I will check this out.

I personally hate Prime. Sure, a person has access to many things, if they want to pay extra for them. Even really old stuff can cost.

Correction— blue and threads — Netflix.
    Here — Britbox

  • Been watching When Missing Turns To Murder on Netflix,  very tough to watch.

There are several episodes up on YouTube.

  • I absolutely love Bad Sisters.

Finished The Devil’s Hour. You really really have to pay attention. I’m there if they do a season 3.

I saw an interview with the two stars in which she said they've already filmed season 3. I still have about 20 minutes left to go of the final episode of season 2. It's stressing me out!

I liked that they didn't serve everything up to you -- you had to pay attention. Like the stolen microwave at the beginning of the second season. It made sense if you had a long memory!

I'm glad to see Jessica Raine back. She took a gamble that didn't pay off in leaving Call the Midwife after the first season. Then I saw her in an episode of Line of Duty and I thought, hey, great...and then they pulled a Police Squad on her and threw her out the window before the opening credits!

  • ....I found this educational if not riveting....at least some novel approaches to old info....just not enough episodes allotted to allow a deeper dive into the varied rabbit holes....

Yes. Absolutely everything has a reason and you get it before it’s revealed if you think about the story and pay attention.

Bev, did you watch season 4 of Only Murders yet? Your thoughts?

    Haven’t started yet.
One episode left -- it's not terrible but I think it's sort of running its course.
I have stalled on the first episode because I loathe Molly Shannon.

How prominently is she featured in this season? If she meets a horrible bone-crushing accident, well worth my time. Otherwise, this will be a slow and painful viewing.

Oh. I will watch no matter what, but it will hurt.

  • I was a little unsure about A Man on the Inside (Netflix) during the first episode, but I am so glad I stuck with it. Such a lovely story.

  • Cross (Amazon) was a little over-stuffed with plot, but I liked it. Intense serial killer series based on James Patterson's series.

Just started Passenger (Britbox). Haven't decided if it's supernatural yet or not.

  • The Sticky (Amazon) is inspired by a real crime -- a heist of maple syrup reserves in Quebec. This 6x30 min series stars Margo Martindale (The Americans, Justified) and has Jamie Lee Curtis coming in at some point. I love quebecois crime shows, where they switch between languages at the drop of a hat, sometimes in mid-sentence, and the French curse words sont formidables. Martindale is a hoot.

And six episodes later (out of six), I'm still not sure. I'm disappointed with the ending. Although billed as a limited series, it seems like their goal was to force a second season.

  • Watched Black Doves, Great fun, reminded me a little bit of Killing Eve, that kind of humour and action mix. Great cast , great performances.

  • I finished Only Murders finally, i had to steel my groin for Molly Shannon. She ended up being pretty good. Pleasantly surprised.

Enjoyed the season overall. Not ready to write them off.

  • Dexter— Original Sin dropped first episode so gonna give it a chance.
Keeping up with Elsbeth, Matlock, Beyond, Bad Sisters as new episodes become available. I have probably 10 other shows in various stages of viewing.

Watched Sherwood and The Tower.  New season of Shetland has begun and it started off strong.

I wish my attention span was in fighting shape.

  • Ohhhhh. This new Dexter is good. Much better than that pathetic last season. I hope they maintain this.

  • I'll have to check out the Dexter.

I'm rewatching S1 of Severance to get ready for S2 next month.

    The first episode is excellent.

Also waiting for Severance. I should do the same and refresh. Mind bending to say the least.

Oh wow. I just watched the first episode of Severance again.  I had forgotten so much. Guess I must commit now to make season 2 richer.

I also have a feeling I’m going to have a completely different feeling about it this time around given how different I am now.

It’s interesting how the same information can mean something so changed after time and experience has chipped away at a person.

I forgot a LOT of it. It's a quick rewatch.
