One episode left -- it's not terrible but I think it's sort of running its course.

I've watched two seasons and thought it quite good. The first season better than the second IMO though.

I would tend to agree -- the setup season is terrific, but then you get more into the overall mythology of the series, which continues until the end with varying degrees of success.

  • Season 9 of Inside No. 9 has dropped!

i am so thrilled. Best two story writers ever.

We loved this series, and The Good Fight. One of the first series we binged during the pandemic.

Very intense. And not at all upbeat.

    Okay, moving slowly on Disclaimer.
    also Watching:

    Bad Sisters
    Before
    Ted Lasso
    Shrinking
    Servant
    Hijack
    elsbeth
    matlock

Finished Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin.   This is really silly fun . Lots of big name actors just being daffy. I really enjoyed it.

A few of those picking up from the seasons where i left off.

  • Almost done with first season of the Good Wife.

    Great cast.

  • Alan Cummings Paradise Homes — britbox

i love house shows. I bet you 5 pairs of socks that if you let me walk into someone’s family room and kitchen, I can 90% of the time tell you so much about who lives there— education or lack thereof, religion, politics, tall or short, stagnant, adventurous or not.  So much. I walk in and yep, i know who I’m dealing with.

  • Watching Nightsleeper. A british tv series about a train, our rather the whole trainsysten being digitally hacked and is driven remotely. Quite good. Were seeing both the cyberattack tean trying to stop the attack and the train and the passengers being hostages on a moving train. Well done, written and acted which is nice.

  • One episode left to go on season 2 of The Diplomat. Apparently the finale is a real jaw-dropper.

To clarify— how they’ve decorated and what they’ve decorated with tell it all.  Clues with paint color, how comfortable or uncomfortable someone was using that color, or shade. Knick knacks or no? Personal items? How high a picture is hung on the walls.  Things sitting around like people live there. So much information about them. Young, middle age, old.

Give me two rooms, 90% accuracy, Boom! A drawer full of socks.

    “Warm summer sun,
        Shine kindly here,
    Warm southern wind,
        Blow softly here.
    Green sod above,
        Lie light, lie light.
    Good night, dear heart,
        Good night, good night.”

    So beautiful.

Season 1, Episode 20 — we have the pleasure to meet Elsbeth Tascioni!  She’s the lawyer who helps when Peter crosses the ankle bracelet line.

Elsbeth is a fun little show, I really like her.

    What Remains.

This is really good.  Long time resident in a building full of long term people found dead in attic 3 years on and no one noticed her missing for 3 years? What happened ?

    Worth my time. Twisty.

  • I've spent the last few months revisiting "Bones" from the very beginning. I still love a good love story. Mixed in with a bunch of murder. (I'll never again say "murder" without a DJ emphasis on the "urrr")

I'm also still watching "A Handmaid's Tale". (Under duress) Little bits of me keep disappearing, I'm not sure I've ever felt this disturbed by a fictional story on the screen. I say fictional, but it's all too easy these days to imagine this could be a possibility. Frightening, very.

  • Has anyone watched The Devil's Hour (Britbox)? It stars Jessica Raine, who was the star of the first season of Call the Midwife. She's a single mom, social worker whose son, Isaac, is completely devoid of emotions. She and he seem to be able to remember the future. Peter Capaldi is the mystery man who seems to know what's going on. I'd never heard of it until Season 2 dropped and it's apparently already been renewed for a third season. It's very creepy, with a strong British crime drama component.
