  • We're binging season three of Ozark on Netflix. Best shows I've seen in a while, Jason Bateman is doing such a wonderful job of acting and directing in this show, it is INTENSE. Hedda, have you checked this one out?

  • I have never watched Ozark but I absolutely love Jason Bateman. I think he is a really underrated actor -- who is gaining deserved recognition.

I think Ozark will be one of those that I wait until they decided to end it and then I'll have all the seasons to binge.

  • Ozark is terrific. I haven't had a chance to start S3 yet, though. My wife and I binged through Star Trek: Picard and then went back to S1 of Discovery.

  • Is Star Trek: Picard, good?
  • I need to get caught up with Better Call Saul.

I am stuck on season 2 with only 2 to go.   These episodes where Saul's brother, Chuck, are struggling -- I'm struggling in solidarity.  They just stopped me flat because the character's life was making me so anxious.  And I guess that's good writing and storytelling when they can make you feel so strongly about a character.  I just didn't want to be a voyeur into his downfall.  Yes. I know. It's a show.  But my heart just broke for this guy.  I'll suck it up and finish so I can move on.  I hear the seasons are fantastic.

  • Picard is very good -- "not you mother's Star Trek," my wife says. The ST universe is much darker in this one, plus they can say bad words. Some familiar faces pop up from time to time. We both enjoyed it.

I  very much want to see this show, hoping it eventually comes to one of the streaming services I have, CBS all access is one that I don't.
  • Bev, I see in 2019 you watched the series, "Russian Doll."

Your thoughts on this one? I don't really know anything about it.  I've been eyeing it but haven't quite talked myself into watching.
  • Fascinating. A terrific concept very well executed.
  • Binged watched all three seasons of Unforgotten, terrific stuff.

I love British T.V.  I am going to add this to my list to watch for sure!  Thanks for brining it to our attention.

Watched the first episode.  And yes, I'm wondering where this is going to go.

I like that the episodes are under a half hour.  That makes it a nice, quick dip into a show without having to commit a ton of time.  (even though time is all I have now.)

Dang! I can't get it.  Not on Hulu or Netflix.  I may have to break down and sign up for Amazon Prime.

It's definitely on Netflix Hedda, that's where I watched it.

Not in America it isn't.  I searched for it by title and by actress and it's not there.  I'm so bummed!
  • I am so intrigued with Westworld this season.  So many ideas are bouncing around my head about what is actually going on.   And I love when I don't get it right!

  • I loved the concept of the "genre" drug, and how they portrayed it.

    I did to. It's a fascinating concept.
  • Bev, has Stephen made any comment about watching Westworld?

I just think they have taken source material and elevated it.  Their world building and the storyline, the characters -- just intriguing as hell to me.

  • I'm not sure that he's made any public comments about it. He and I discussed season 1 when it finished.

  • Okay, this latest episode of Westworld seemed a bit helter skelter to me. Maybe my focus wasn't completely on it like it should have been, but it seemed weak to me.

I'm hoping the next episode, which is the last for this season, brings all these loose ends together and gives more sense to the episode I just saw.

Bev, or anyone watching, what were your thoughts on this last episode?

  • Anyone watching the Belgian Netflix series, Into the Night?

Okay, I started watching this Into the Night.  Two episodes in, it is quite interesting.  I'm hooked till the end.

It is an old story.  One of an airplane flying away from a dying civilization caused by the sun. So, they are trying to outrun the sun.  Sort of Nightflyer with no vampire.
I can't help but think of Joe Hill's "You Are Released".

I recognize a lot of the actors in this from other foreign shows I've watched, so it's great to see their performances in new things.

  • I don't even know what to think about Westworld.  Obviously there is another season and we need it.   Unfortunately, we will have to wait for it and this season's details will fade.  I will definitely have to watch this season again when season 4 is set to come out so I can pick up right where they left off.

  • Really enjoying the current season of Cardinal, top notch performances as usual.
