  • I was supposed to start back remotly in work today.  It's 15 minutes to the arsenal - but my plug blew out and now the maintence guy is here.  I lost a drawing that I was doing.

Hope your deathcall bird flys away, Kurb.   :open_mouth:

Might be. I am a bit inland and this might be a species that only like the seacoasts...? The common Gull we see a lot of here and also some other species but it was the sound of it that made me sure it was a new one to me. If i had heard inside, while reading a book say, i would been convinced that it was a deathrattle of my neighbor, not a birdcry.
....maybe a member of the Bittern species?....the Least Bittern has a cry very much like what you describe.....

  • Going grocery shopping which is actually a major feat after having been mostly laid up on the couch for over a week now with one of the worst colds I remember having in a very long time. Caught it from my grandson (who will now be known as Typhoid Tommy) when I was in MA a couple weeks ago. Both he and my daughter, who'd also had it, had been tested and were negative for COVID so don't think it was a breakthrough case but just a particularly nasty cold virus. Still not feeling 100% but can't put it off any longer.

I'm sorry you're still feeling so bad, that's a nasty one. 😔 Sorry you're the one having to shop too.
    Typhoid Tommy... perfect. 😁😍
    Hope you're fully recovered soon.

I passed it on to my SO (which makes me Typhoid Marsha 😊) so I'm feeling better than he does at this point, so only fair that I do it. :) I think I've finally turned the corner so just a matter of time now before it's run its course.

  • Today, finally, my many tries to make my laptops battery reload failed definitely. No matter the angle i pushed or pressed the thing in. So i took the whole thing to a shop that are supposed to fix these things. And in two hours they had fixed it!!! They repaired the cable that was not as it should be and said to me that i should be careful with bending and pushing or it might go kaputt permanently. It cost some money but it was quick service and now it works so i wont complain about that.

Hopefully it will hang in  there. In the mean time, start socking away some money for the inevitable new purchase.

Hope he's much better soon too.

  • The adventures continue for me today. Somehow or other i stepped on, in my apartment, a sharp plastic object (have no idea how it got there, looks like it might at one point have been part of a package or something) and it started to bleed under the foot!!! Of all things! I have washed first with water and then with desinfectant and put on a band-aid put somehow they seldom stick for long in such a place....  . Oh, well  So now i'm hobbling around at home and feeling a little stupid.

  • Ouch! Hope it's not too bad and heals quickly Kurben.

  • Hi everyone,

Doing some catching up on posts. It took me forever to recover from our trip home last month.

Still working on the kitchen. The ceiling and 2 walls are painted. The new blind and trim are installed. I just have the 2 cabinet walls left to paint. Been too hot here this week though. In the low 100s Mon and Tues, yesterday 97 and today is finally cooler, 81 AND we got some rain early this morning and again just a bit ago. Should have been painting today. Ha.

We went home again last week on Friday. Spent some time with my dad and stepmom. Spent some time with my mom. Took the kids around to a few places, went to Ft Laramie, Register Cliff and the covered wagon ruts on the Oregon Trail. The last time we did that, I think Ty and Ali were only 3 and 4. The next day we went to Scott's Bluff Monument, and that was the kids' first time there, I hadn't been there since elementary school. And a really nice museum called Legacy of the Plains. Came home Monday, got home around 2 pm. Have not done much since, between the heat and being tired. Need to get my kitchen done soon though. Hopefully I can do it this weekend.

Big hugs and positive vibes to all for all the things I have missed!

No, I'm sorry! I haven't seen that yet. But, she is doing great! Growing like a weed and she has a very "love me" kind of personality. And she plays so hard. She had her first round of shots a week ago. She has been a very welcome addition to our family. Lily loves her to death, too. I will try to get a pic up soon. 🙂
