  • Good morning,

My stepmom is showing some improvement. They got a tube in to drain all the ucky stuff from her stomach and that alone helped. She is getting nutrients from a picc line and is already improving strength wise. Enough so, they are going to try to do a biopsy today.

They said she did not have a heart attack. The symptoms and everything that happened Monday morning were due to her extreme dehydration. No heart attack.

My dad says the nursing staff is top notch. Very caring and compassionate. My stepmom's 2 sisters are there now, from Montana and even though the rules are 2 visitors per day, the nurses are allowing them all to be together. Said it was important. And one even joined hands with them all and prayed with them. I am so glad.

I know in my head the doctors are probably sure enough in their diagnosis...I mean, they told my dad this would take her from us. But they are still going to try the biopsy...I am hopeful. This morning's update was positive so I am going to hope the news will continue to be good.

Thank you all for caring and for all the prayers and good vibes. Means so much. ❤

It ended up being the Pfizer, not Moderna, vaccine but so far, so good. Just a sore arm. My daughter agreed with your assessment @GNTLGNT that the second one packs a much bigger punch which is what it's supposed to do and means it's working.
...yes indeed, but I would have preferred roses and a steak dinner.....

Amen to that and I'll take a piece of cheesecake for dessert! :)  Hmmmm, I may just do all that for myself to celebrate the occasion when it happens. Sounds pretty yummy.

  • I had a little accident in the night..... Managed to tear my foot straight through the sheet and before i know what was happening i had practically torn it into shreds. The Sheet-Ripper, thats me!! Was at the mall today and bought a new sheet. For some reason they only had purple coulored ones....  Can i get enough calm to fall asleep on top of purple colored sheets?? Time will tell.

  • I had my meeting with my doctor. Felt very strange not to be able to actually meet meet her but this was the first meeting through video i've had. Got new prescriptions and everything went smoothly. One bad thing though, she is retiring next year so after the next meeting i'm gonna get a new one. I've gotten so used to her so it will feel strange. Hopefully he/she will be as nice as she has been through the years.

....as long as she makes sure her successor has all her files, you should be good...."bedside manner" is never a sure thing, but hopefully she has had input as to her replacement and a similar personality will be your boon....

I feel for you Kurben, I still miss 'my' doctor it was truly awful when he retired. It's a relationship that is difficult to replicate with a new one when you've spent years and invested a lot of trust in your old one. Damn doctors for aging and wanting a retirement. ☺😁

It absolutely is and looks to be in very good shape.  What religion practices here and do they do so to this day?  The building is going strong, is the worship going strong?

Well, it was catholic until 1523 when Gustav I Throw out the catholics and created the swedish church, a form of lutheranism. Since then it has been Protestant. Sermons are still held and the churchyard has expanded so new graves can have room. There are also three Runestones that are part of the walls. A way that early christianity here had of pressing down the old Norse beliefs was to use symbols of the old ways to build churches, symbols of the new way.

Wow - my son did the same thing, but he has this habit of letting his toe nails grow a bit too long

Let's hope you don't end up dreaming about this big guy!
