  • Saw Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes -- my first trip to a theater in over four years. A good experience.

....good to hear that some cretin with their cell phone shining and their feet on your seat never materialized....the CGI apes in the film are more civilized than many moviegoers....

  • Sweet Girl 2021 - IMDb

.......Big Pharma vs Aquaman......seriously though, this was a decent film.....worth the watch.....

Sep 27, 2018 — Film Review: 'The Clovehitch Killer' ... A teen suspects his seemingly squeaky-clean dad of being a serial murderer in this creepily understated ...

I thought it was a good watch.

  • Watched Civil War with Kirsten Dunst in the lead. A US in Civil War and Dunst as a war photographer trying to get the best shot/story while traveling across a wartorn US. So-so. Not one i'll remember but it kept me watching so i guess it wasn't bad.
    GNTLGNTHedda GablerNotaroFlakeNoir
  • ....and it was Kirsten Dunst, so with that view it couldn't have been all bad....

  • Two more Michael Caine.

    Gambit. Very charming little movie.

Noises Off. — the most impressive thing about this is the very very busy bits of business an ensemble cast must keep going at a frenzied pace. Impressive.

  • Godzilla Minus One. Big monster fun with a Jaws riff.

  • Sous La Seine. A french shark movie that is about a makoshark that mutated to live, partly, in riverwater and spread havoc with paris inhabitants. Quite good actually. No Jaws but better than most shark movies i'be seen. (admittedly i have seen some real bad ones because i have a weakness for sharkmovies but still). Netflix.

  • ...."French shark"?.....what it's do, be rude to it's victims while chain smoking Gauloises?...
    Hedda GablerNotaroKurbenFlakeNoir
  • FORCE OF NATURE.....fair to middling action film, where the hurricane gets the best parts.....

The Highwaymen 2019 - IMDb......this one is a bit overlong, but nonetheless an engrossing alternate take on the legends.....

  • Godzilla double bill......

Godzilla  x  Kong: The New Empire

Godzilla and Kong team up to do battle against a .....ah who gives a fcuk, this was an absolute load of bollocks, a completely soulless experience, I had more enjoyment watching my dog looking out the window barking at passers-by.

    Godzilla Minus One....

A Japanese kamikaze pilot fakes engine trouble to escape death, after the war he joins volunteers to help battle a raging monster threatening the country.

This is a good one, good performances, great effects, plenty of heart and soul.

  • Godzilla Minus One was terrific.

I read the Texas Monthly article about Gary Johnson years ago. "All Pie Is Good Pie," what a great title that would have been. Netflix figured out how to tell his story with a fun mix of reality and total fiction, but they kept the original title: Hit Man.

  • Last weekend, my wife and I took our daughter (8) to see IF. We all had a great time. I was surprised at how many emotional moments there were. Plenty of laughs for kids and adults alike. A really good family movie, IMO.

  • .....and your dog wasn't CGI either old buddy..... :D

  • ....I took Kurb's recco into consideration and the fact that Steve himself seemed to enjoy it, and flopped into my fat man recliner for a viewing of Under Paris....

Under Paris 2024 - IMDb....some good CGI, some laughs that may or or may not have been intentional, but the whole time_I kept seeing the original JAWS movie superimposed over this....only thing missing was Robert Shaw bitching about something from a curbside bistro.....
    Hedda GablerNotaroFlakeNoir
  • I got a kick out of Under Paris. Carnage and explosions galore!
    GNTLGNTHedda GablerNotaroFlakeNoir
  • ....oh indeed....

  • I really really want to encourage all of you who have Netflix to watch the movie Airport (Helen Hayes, Dean Martin etc).

I saw this in the theaters when released but it is fantastic seeing it now. Not because it’s good but because it is seriously a time capsule of those years.

No baggage checks. No screenings, big spaced out seats, smoking, real silverware with knives, knitting needles. Attitudes and social norms. I am loving it just for all these things.

  • We watched Fall Guy last night (Ryan Gosling/Emily Blunt/Hannah Waddingham), a full-bore paean to stunt actors with a couple of cute callouts to other action heroes, the original TV series, Miami Vice, etc. It's a lot of fun, and be sure to sit through the credits.

  • Wonka was cute. Loved Olivia Colman and Hugh Grant in it -- looks like they were having a blast.
