  • Watched The Last Of The Mohicans with Daniel Day-Lewis and Madeleine Stowe. I had read the book but missed the movie before this. It was quite good. It has a competent director in Michael Mann (Heat, The Insider, Collateral, Public Enemies) that knew how to keep a story going and keeping the pace up. Also helped by beautiful scenery and good acting. The english are properly arrogant towards everybody not an english aristocrat. Its taking place about 20 years before the revolution (in the war between the the english and the french and their respective native allies, A young George Washington fought for the english as a commanding officer but he is not part of this movie).

  • Watched, Red Notice.

An art thief teams up with a cop to thwart another thiet from obtaining Cleopatra's bejeweled eggs.

Dwane Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot star in this fairly generic action comedy, saved only by Reynolds quips and snappy comebacks this was predictable big budget fluff, watchable and instantly forgettable.

  • Watched Shang-Chi. A fun Marvel movie with several great Eastern stars in key roles. The third act was OK but the tension was let down by what I call the Magic Malleability problem ie - the rules of the magic(s) are not clear or seem to fluctuate as needed by the story. Still fun cast and some gorgeous fight choreography. Always great to see Michelle Yeoh too.

An investigative team at the Boston Globe newspaper uncover systematic child sex abuse by the Catholic Church in the area . Excellent cast give powerful performances. A tough watch but essential viewing.

Found the time to watch Daniel Craig's last Bond Movie - No Time To Die. In spirit this one reminds me of On Her Majesty's Secret Service which is a good thing. Craig's - Casino Royale - is one of my favorite Bond flicks while the others he has done were a bit too dour for my Bond tastes. Craig certainly closes the door on Bond with this one.

It will be interesting to see how the Bond franchise moves forward.

Netflix has Secret Window now. I have had it running in the background  probably 5 times since finding it. I love Secret Window. It falls under everyone’s radar for some reason. One of my favorite king adaptations.

Why can’t they pick up Storm of the Century?

I can remember watching each episode. And i recorded it so i could watch it again and follow along with the screenplay.  So interesting to tag along.

“It’s a cash and carry world. Sometimes you pay a little. Sometimes you pay a lot. Sometimes it’s everything you have.”

I would have shit myself if i had written something this good. Life summed up so perfectly in a few sentences.

If anyone goes to see Belfast, please drop your thoughts. I love Jamie Dornan. He was such an unexpected character in The Fall.

have never seen the Fifty Shades stuff.  Might be too dangerous for my vintage estrogen.

I've never read the books or watched the movies either.
I wouldn't want to be 50 Shades of embarrassed. 😄

A cataclysmic event leads to chaos, a man and his father in law travel by car across country to try and rescue his pregnant wife. This was ok, decent performances.
