  • I just watched a trailer for Norsemen on netflix. It looks hilarious.  Going to give it a shot.

  • The Alienist is proving to be a very interesting period piece IMO.  I wish now I would've seen season one.

Also finished Season 3 of Boston Legal.

Watching this Polish entry on Netflix, Signs.

So far, it's okay.  I'm bored and it's working for me.  But man!  If I was Polish, I wouldn't be wildly happy with how it portrays me.  It's pretty rough.  Once again, very bleak.  Nothing is updated or modern.  Everything looks run down, broken, rusted, and you know it smells like mold and mildew. bwhahaha.

I wouldn't mess with a Polish man or woman for nothing.  They would give you a good beat down without blinking an eye.  According to this series.

Every human vice is showcased in every episode.

  • My wife has me watching Alone. If being hungry is your thing then this is the show for you.👀 Beautiful scenery though. Watching the season filmed in Mongolia. Very cool.

Hugh ALONE fan here.  I'm watching the current season.  I think I know who is going to win, but you can never be sure.  One slip in footing or with a tool and you are out.  One bad day with a spark of a fire or no food or eat the wrong thing, and you're out.

One really bad mental day, and you tap out.

    I love this show.

Could you be a contestant? Could you do it?

The last thing to get to me would be the mental game.  And that seems to be the thing that takes out a lot of contestants.

I could be be by myself for months.  The fact I couldn't kill anything to eat, that might be a problem. I could fish.  I could do that.  But, apparently you cannot live on a diet of fish alone.

I could build an awesome shelter.  I'm very good at that kind of work.

One year they did teams.  I'd be a great supportive player to a mtn. man from No Name City.

Okay. I just thought about this. I completely forgot about the vampires.  That might be a problem for me.

  • Watched a couple of episodes of season one of "Real Detective". It's a mix of real interviews mixed with re-enactment. Really good, definitely worth a watch.

The isolation wouldn’t bother me either. I’m a pretty good fisherman and could learn to shoot a bow and arrow. My problem would be finding enough mushrooms and greens to eat. I’d end up like the guy we had to bail because of eating only pine trees. Talk about being bound up....

Oh and the werewolves would freak me out a bit too.

  • Just finished up H.C.'s The Woods.

I really liked this lead actor/character.  I hope to see him in more projects in the future.

Poland is bleak!  Of course, for purposes of mood and setting, they may have chosen to show us a bleaker picture. Surely Poland has upscale, modern and beautiful areas too?

Flashbacks are definitely brighter, while modern day is gray and chilly.

It was an acceptable web overall.  The only thing I knew quickly was the storyline with Paweł's mother.  That was pretty obvious.  But the kid storyline was twisty.
I just started this today -- it's looking pretty good. I've been on a run of mediocre dramas, so it's nice to see something decent. I like that it's only six episodes, too.

  • Poland struggles just a little bit with their things, but I liked this one.  It took me a bit to get into the tempo of it, but it was better than mediocre.  IMO.

Poland needs to update some policies.

and just to add to that, not being refrigerated, where was the bug activity? Why wasn't the body bloating from bacteria?  Nobody seemed offended by any smell, days and days later when they came back to the slab.

It looked like they were in a cavern under a freeway.

  • I am really struggling with the new season of Marcella.

If anyone has finished season 3, is it gonna get better?

I like Inspector Jork, the heavyset detective investigating the man's death. He's a decent cop, not willing to cut corners.

I finished S3. It's very Shakespearean. I stuck through to the end...I think it's worth it, but don't expect much high drama. It's all very psychological and messy!

I felt like they cheated a little by withholding information Pawel had -- what he saw about Laura's father in the woods, for example, and the encounter they had subsequently when he ran him off his bike.

  • Going to rewatch  I.Claudius , for me it's arguably the best thing ever made for TV.

  • Aw to the hell no.  I just finished up the first season of another Polish entry called Signs.
    Netflix.

It's really rough, but I still enjoyed it enough to keep going. A smidge over mediocre.  But be warned, this leaves you hanging with the storyline worse than any TV series I have ever watched.  And that included who shot J.R.  Just so many plot points and character stories hanging hanging hanging.  Such a cheat!

It wouldn't be so bad if season 2 was available, but it is not. So if you have been looking at this, I wouldn't bother until Season 2 posts.

Because, if they take too long to get a season 2, I will come back to it, but I will have to totally refresh my memory on what the hell is going on here.

  • Finished Marcella.  While it had moments of interesting plot, I just had to  really suspend disbelief way too much.  So many crazy things just thrown in for shock value? Thinking they were being cutting edge and intense?  Just went beyond my sensibilities and I'm pretty accepting of things that go beyond sensibilities.   :)

Another polish entry that was horrible.  I finished it though by golly.
