Right now I am toasting an Everything bagel, cooking some KD (That is what we call Kraft Dinner but Americans call it Mac 'n Cheese) and I just finished a few treats (like a few chocolate covered pretzels and five chocolate covered almonds.

I am having some cravings and I think it's because I have lost 19.4 pounds but my body is rebelling and wants to go back to my previous [bigger] size.

I'm not giving up! I will record all the foods I eat, even the so-called 'bad' foods and I'll get through this

I am on Noom by the way and I signed up for a whole year - my subscription will expire in August 22

    Wow, good for you Neesy!

I made bbq pork ribs and au gratin potatoes tonight. Haven't eaten yet, but the ribs are fall apart tender. They look so good.

Mmmmm - that sounds good - Andy is cooking today and made a beef and vegetable soup using a beef shank.

He's also cooking some stewing beef in the pressure cooker and he's going to add root vegetables and make some gravy - this sounds really good to me.

Today I finally got down to 20 lb down so I am feeling like I've accomplished something even though it's taken me almost six months.

    If you're reading this @Notaro that's about 1.5 stone ;)

Andy must be feeling well since he was up and cooking?

He cooks every now and then (probably when he gets tired of my cooking lol)

I found a great recipe for street tacos i want to try.  We had a food truck local that served tbe best damn street tacos, but they disappeared.

The only thing i can tell is different — my guys added radishes to the top. F’ing delicious!!!! And yes, that f’ing was necessary to convey the level of deliciousness.

They were okay. My family loved them. I thought they were just your run of the mill tacos. The recipe inly called for 1 hour marinate.  Up to 4. I should’ve let them marinate overnight.

That might make a difference.. and I think food always tastes better when someone else has prepared it, so... I bet they were lovely. ❤

  • Wow - just found this one at last (this thread I mean)

It's been a little tricky cooking lately as Andy can't eat everything we do - good news is that he won't be getting any chemo so hopefully his appetite will return and he'll put some weight back on

  • LOL Scott

Today I am making a lentil soup in the slow cooker with carrots, celery, onions and even some yellow zucchini that I grew in the garden.

It's supposed to be a vegan recipe but I am going to add some diced ham steak at the very end

  • Trying something different today - I had a sirloin tip roast leftover in the fridge (already cooked) so I am going to attempt a beef stew in the slow cooker - hope it turns out okay!
I managed to get about 1 1/2 pounds of chopped up beef, after removing any fat or gristle.
It would be all ready to go by now but I got interrupted by my neighbors reporting a (probably) stolen bike left in between our two houses.

  • I really enjoyed this cookbook, which comes out next week. The recipes are all inspired by things people (exclusively those from Maine) consume in one of King's books, novellas or novels.

That's great! I wonder if I could ask my local library to get this book? Sounds like a good one

  • I'm sure you could -- it's coming from an imprint of Penguin.
