  • I am making homemade veggie soup ( just chopped up a bunch of cabbage NN) and it looks great.

I’ll let all the spices snd veg simmer in my crock pot and then i will make some cornbread before serving.

It turned out horrible! How in the holy hell does someone mess up something as simple as veggie soup?

All fresh vegs except for frozen peas and corn.  I used the spices called for. Obviously not enough. Quality stock although not homemade. Boring. I didn’t make the cornbread. Maybe that was the important part.

Hey Hedda - I never did get around to that grilled cabbage "steak" but I have to say that in theory it should work. That smallish head of cabbage is still in my fridge. :o @not_nadine

What I've done in the past is to use that coleslaw that comes in a bag, already chopped up, to make a soup. I just do it on top of the stove. I add extra onions and it helps if you saute the onions in olive oil and butter for extra flavour.

Andy bought a big soup bone. It looks like he roasted it in the oven then put it in a big pot with water, onions, carrots and celery plus some spices (I'm guessing).

I've got it on the stove top right now (he left it in the sink overnight i.e. put the pot in ice cold water) - he must have decided there wasn't enough room in the fridge

    - hmmm - I think I spy some lima beans in there (which I used to hate) but I think I can eat them now

(this is from a website called miss information - WTH?)

  • I haven't been posting very many recipes in quite a while - I'm down six pounds in six weeks so this time I am doing it very gradually.

It takes a while to get used to.

Anybody have any good suggestions on what works for them when it comes to changing your eating habits and losing pounds?

    Snickerdoodle?

Sounds like a character on the Muppet Show

Oh my - just found a recipe for a Snickerdoodle bar OMG

It's from "The Crepes of Wrath"

  • Had some 10% cream that had to be used up so I made a Dr. Oetker Double chocolate mousse.

I counted it as 170 calories even though it was supposed to be made with milk (it's really good though!)

So far I am down about 8 lb in 7 weeks so I feel like my old body is finally coming back
