What's Cooking?

  • My mom bought a 21 pound turkey to feed 7 people. Y'all want to join us? She's operating off the "if you build it, they will come" idea from that Kevin Costner movie. It's always such fun (Ha!). I have perfected my broccoli salad, so that's exciting and that's what I'm taking.

Tonight was no cook Friday - the Ogre had a chicken curry craving, so that's what he had- take out. I had the butteriest peanutbutteriest English Muffin I could make. And a hunk of Tillamook Vermont White Cheddar. Follow me on Facebook for more ways to increase your cholesterol!

  • Andy is making a ham and cheese quiche which sounds delicious (and smells really good)

I've already had quite a lot of calories today so I might have a sliver but then burn it off later on my stationary bike

  • Has anyone cooked pork loin stuffed medallions before.   I’m talking individual cut medallions .

I got cut and stuffed wild  rice and mushrooms medallions for thanksgiving.

I know i need to sear them, but i want to finish in oven. Tenderloins can easily dry out — any tips on spices and best cooking time and temps for them.   My google skills are only bringing up whole stuffed tenderloins cooked and THEN cut into medallions after cooking.

  • Custom Medallions Made To Order for Schools - Monterey Company....I tried these once....they were a bit rough to chew....no amount of tenderizing helped....

  • Cooking the usual at t'giving.   Turkey, gravy , stuffing, cranberry sauce (not the jelly can)  coleslaw. Actually BF is cooking all that.   :)  I'll help out.
First time thanksgiving in a long time in my own place.

  • Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Tonight I am making a recipe called "Magic Meatloaf" - an old recipe I found in the booklet that came with an old crockpot.

You use a package of onion soup mix (maybe that's the magic part?)

Right now I am toasting an Everything bagel, cooking some KD (That is what we call Kraft Dinner but Americans call it Mac 'n Cheese) and I just finished a few treats (like a few chocolate covered pretzels and five chocolate covered almonds.

I am having some cravings and I think it's because I have lost 19.4 pounds but my body is rebelling and wants to go back to my previous [bigger] size.

I'm not giving up! I will record all the foods I eat, even the so-called 'bad' foods and I'll get through this

I am on Noom by the way and I signed up for a whole year - my subscription will expire in August 22

    Wow, good for you Neesy!

I made bbq pork ribs and au gratin potatoes tonight. Haven't eaten yet, but the ribs are fall apart tender. They look so good.

Mmmmm - that sounds good - Andy is cooking today and made a beef and vegetable soup using a beef shank.

He's also cooking some stewing beef in the pressure cooker and he's going to add root vegetables and make some gravy - this sounds really good to me.

Today I finally got down to 20 lb down so I am feeling like I've accomplished something even though it's taken me almost six months.

    If you're reading this @Notaro that's about 1.5 stone ;)

Wow - how'd ya get Naomi to come over and cook?

  • I wish! It would’ve tasted better because all food tastes better when someone else  makes it.

    It was yummy.
