  • Saw X by Ti West...  About a group of young ones that rent a house in texas by an elderly couple to make a porno flick to make them famous. But the elderly couple find out what the renters are up to (and are a real creepy duo) and then react violently. Now i regret seeing it. 90 minutes of my life wasted. I'll give some credit to the actors that played the elderly couple but otherwise...  Not for me. The first half was basically an excuse to show a lot of tits and ass and intercourse.
1,5/5. the extra half point is for the action afterwards which was passable even if you have seen it all multiple times before.

  • Watched Gladiator 2.

Over 20 years have passed since the events of the first movie, the young boy Lucius is now a young man living far from Italy. Roman legions attack his city and after the battle Lucius is enslaved and sold to a trader who trains him as a gladiator,  his fierceness in the arena leads him to Rome and he is faced with reuniting with his mother and freeing Rome from the tyranny of its rulers.

I felt Gladiator wasn't a movie that needed a sequel, but I suppose it was inevitable that one would arrive at some point. That said, it's an enjoyable romp, while it doesn't have the immediate impact the original had its certainly a spectacle, there are enough battles and arena fights to keep you interested. The cast are good, and performances are good. "Are you not entertained".....for the most part yes I was....

  • Watched, The Soul Eater.

In a small remote mountain village in France, a series of brutal deaths and child abductions bring two outside detectives in to try to discover what is happening, a centuries old myth is believed to be responsible but the detectives believe something for more real and insidious is at work....

This is a very good if at times tough watch, the cast are all good, and it's an interesting but depressing story. Worth a look...

I will never be able to watch the first Gladiator with Crowe ever again. Everything about that movie had me sobbing and so anxious. Joaquin was absolutely stunning in his role. He was at his best and so evil and terrifying.

But that end scene, walking through the wheat, i was just done in.

  • Watched, The Being.

A small town in Idaho is terrorised by a horribly mutated creature, the local police chief and a government scientist join forces to track down and destroy the creature.

A buddy of mine recommended this to me years ago but I never got around to it, then I stumbled across it on Amazon Prime.......and wish I hadn't.  Despite it having some distinguished actors on board it is pretty bad, it apparently had a budget of around $5 million dollars but it looks like it had a budget of $5 dollars. Its just a nonsensical mess, I love dumb monster movies but I struggled to get through this one.

Samuel L. didn't utter a single thirteen-letter expletive in this movie.

  • Watched Winchester 73 by Anthony Mann. From 1950. Starring James Stewart and Shelley Winters. And excellent actors like John McIntire, Dan Duryea, Stewart Mcnally and Millard Mitchell in supporting roles. Mann is not quite, IMO, in the league of Ford and Hawks when it comes to westerns from this era but they are really good. He made 7 with Stewart. The Man From Laramie is probably the most well known but all are good.

  • Rewatched The Crazies.

A chemical spill turns a small towns inhabitants into homicidal maniacs, the local sheriff and his wife try to discover what is the cause of the mayhem.

A remake of the George A. Romero classic, and as remakes go it's pretty good. The cast all give good performances and there's enough chaos happening to keep you interested.

    Full movie.

  • Watched Breakheart Pass with Charles Bronson in the lead (Based on an alistair maclean novel) and supported by very capable actors in Ben Johnson, Richard Crenna, Charles Durning and Ed Lauter and with Jill Ireland (who else?) as the female lead. Good if not great movie. Have always liked him. Leone once called him the greatest actor i've worked with and considering he worked with Clint Eastwood, Henry Fonda and Robert de Niro that is praise indeed.

    I watched this.
    M. Night Shyamalan movie.
It was decent with some creepy scenes.  Bumpy at times with Blair Witch type filming.

  • I really liked this strange movie!  Black comedy.

A criminal on the run cons his way into the wrong dinner party where the host is anything but ordinary.
