  • ....kinda like Nic taking over for his dad as the Genesis drummer.....

  • Just to be clear, he couldn’t do some of the drumming as a young man and faked it. Now that he’s older, he’s called in the extra guys. So this wasn’t a “he got old or sick thing”, he just wasn’t a skilled drummer.

  • Watched, Dig Deeper: The Disappearance of Birgit Meier.

Fascinating documentary about the disappearance of a woman in Germany in 1989. After the police have given up on the case her brother continues the search.

    Oh my lord!

They found 400 “trophies” on his property. And the police!  Lazy police just need to get out of the job.  If you don’t care about justice and truth, you suck at your job, loser. Embarrassment.

I am so glad they finally found her. And you know the killer’s damn brother was involved.

Good job to her brother for fighting for her.  And the poor husband, years of being accused.  I’m glad he was finally vindicated.

This was incredible and heartbreaking to watch.  What an absolute shambles and breakdown in policing and detective work.

Yasmin, her daughter brought tears to my eyes with her poem at the end of episode 4. 😥

  • We watched the second part of GET BACK last night -- fascinating stuff. It really refutes some of the long-standing beliefs about what their relationships were like at the time. If you read the Wiki on the Beatles for that period, it paints a very different picture.

That’s what i got from the review i read.  We’ve been led to believe a certain story and if appears to be wrong. Why wasn’t it cleared up immediately?

    The Super Bob Epstein Movie.

I loved Super Dave.  This was a lovely group of friends talking about Bob — every single  thing  they said was always said with a huge grin and a laugh.

  • Sort of a documentary: Carole King and James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name on HBO Max. Mostly their 2010 reunion concert with many of the original musicians from their 1970 Troubador concert. It was so great to see them together again, and they still got it. Such uplifting music.

    @BevVincent

The Carol and James doc was so good.  Now, you are a man who reads to his wife which is so romantic.  The question I have for you here, watching this doc, did you ask Mrs/Dr. to dance?

    Please tell me you danced.
    FlakeNoirNotaroGNTLGNTMarsha
  • Oh man.  It’s taking a lot for me not to bust out crying.

I just noticed James is wearing a shirt with the little embroidered alligator logo on it.  I didn’t realize they still made those. They were my dad’s favorite casual shirts. I saw that and boom! My dad.  I miss that guy.

    The Irish Pub

This was from 1993 so makes me wonder how many of these traditional, family-owned pubs are still operating?

i had to have subtitles on. Most people I could understand but every once in a while, they got talking fast and thick .

At some point, i may go back and check on these owners and their pubs. Really interesting stories and characters.

jimmy page is a freak. I didn’t learn that from the doc but from googling. I always seek out more.

Also, a big crime mystery surrounds the group. Their hotel safe deposit box was robbed of 200,000 dollars. The crime was never solved.

  • “He became the band’s sex symbol when no one else wanted to.” 🤣

I didn’t realize how many of their songs i really liked.

And someone phoned in a death threat — on supertramp?

I have a memory that you saw them in concert?

    FlakeNoirGNTLGNT
  • The first concert I ever saw was their "Breakfast in Canada" show in Moncton, which was either right before or right after the canceled show in Halifax. I saw them again on their Canonball tour after Hodgson left the group. They are one of my all-time favorite groups.

While I was sad that Hodgson left, it worked out in the long run, because for several years just about any time there was a new Supertramp album, there was also a new Hodgson album! Unfortunately, Rick Davies has been dealing with cancer for several years, so there's been nothing new from Supertramp.
