I watch gamers play games. I leave it to the professionals . 

Right now, I am watching Elden Ring.   Apparently, a new player
 enters the game as Will Smith. He runs up to the actual player, slaps him and runs away.   I can’t wait for this to happen. 

Yep. This is what my excitement boils down to, a slap by a character in a game.

I work monday-tuesday next week and then i have a few days off around easter. Doesnt start again until wednesday the week after easter. I need these days!!!

No not yet. Earliest possible this fall but most probably somewhere in the first half of next year. Need to empty, or at least partly empty, my storageroom too because there are some pipes there and they need access. Ot is of course stuffed with things so it means a throwing away party somewhere in the future.

Sounds lovely.  I'm working all of the Stat/Easter holidays but have taken the last 4 days of the school holiday break off, right before a weekend, so 6 days altogether, wahoooo! I echo your joy. ☺

And, now it makes me want to read my Alice in Wonderland books.  I have them in my TBR pile --  I know the Disney story, but not the books.

Both Alice and Through the Lookingglass are great. Definitely worth reading.

I guess Alice is in the public domain. I found a YouTube person who reads them. Unabridged. Her voice seems to fit well with the writing so i’ll be listening to that all day on and off. 

An audio reader can make or break a story.  Choose wisely, authors.  

Do audiobook voice artists audition? I would insist on auditions.  They are actors after all. 

Just because a person is skilled with a beautiful voice doesn’t mean they are the right person for certain stories. 

 They may have read a book and you enjoyed their contribution, but they may not bring the right sound to your story.

Quite true, i think. But is it always the authors have any say in this? Big names perhaps but otherwise the publishing firm pick one i think.

I don’t know kurben. I never really thought about it before. I bet you’re right with the publishers picking for small authors.  

Stephen King might get to choose? I don’t know. It’s interesting though. I’ve listened to a ton of audiobooks and not often but every once in a while I think, this was the wrong person to read this.  They have a great voice and commanding presence, but the overall performance doesn’t work with the piece.
