    It had had one of those randomly assigned avatars for most of my time here. At least that was what I saw on my side of the screen.

    What has me scratching my head is why I wasn't seeing it like that until today. That, on top of having my FB author account hacked and Jordan and I are locked out of it, is adding to my current cybersecurity paranoia.

    I switched IOS from Catalina to Big Sur but had also been keeping up with all earlier security updates. The only change from yesterday to today was that I shut down my laptop and phone and then logged back in this morning. I've had restarts on both before this, though, so not sure if that is just coincidence.

    Hmm that's a puzzler. (Sometimes configuration after an update will only occur when you shutdown, rather than restart? But that's probably not it.)

    I think it was the shutdown that made Marsha see it. The change in avatar had been made long ago, by whom remains nebolous, and then all in the network could see it but because she did not shut down her computer it stuck to the old settings. Once Marsha did shutdown she could see what we all have been seeing for a long time. A perfectly nice pic!!

    I think it's easy for people to rally around a person when shit hits the fan.  Because, it makes people feel that their lives are better.  So, the sad sack boosts them up and they think to themselves, "I'm glad I'm not that poor son of a bitch."  That's not saying they don't care, they do.  Then there are those people who do hit the road.  They don't want to deal with your possible "negative energy."  They have to gird their loins to support you.  It's interesting to watch.

     I think you can also learn a lot about someone and their friendship when things are going great for you.  Who is truly happy for your good fortune?  I've seen a lot of jealousy play out when good things start falling in someone's lap.  Who are the ones that do the small things in their power to help you?  My hair professional and I just had a long discussion about this very topic.  

    Because I'm old and I make people talk to me. poor bastards.
