It’s the roots, man!!!  The evolution of art, people, times, settings, locations that don’t exist  any more!  You see the huge technological advances in film, makeup, special effects.  All that stuff and more.   I wasn’t alive when that old silent, black and white movie of nosferatu  was made, but i sought it out. It was a must that i see it.  It was a terrific movie. 

    Honestly, i have never felt so old as listening to them talk. 



    ....it's a throwaway generation.....very few care about anything except in an extremely transient way.....not even fame last 15 minutes with them.....and I include my own kids in that.....heritage?.....meh.......heirlooms?.....blah.....etc.......

    Had a guy come in from the City Water Department - he replaced our old water meter which looked to be the original one from the 1940s (the old part of the house) - I just hope our water bill does not go up.

    Since the old one was leaking maybe we will get lucky and the bill will go down

    Yes, thank god for the printing press. Another very good idea we europeans took from China. The paper to write on is also a chinese invention. Earlier people used wax or clay or papyrus or other materials that were not suitable for duration. But the chinese found out how to make good quality paper from trees
