  • I’m starting to get covid rage.  If one more idiot gets their grocery cart and stands in front of all the other carts to wipe it down, i’m going to go bruce lee on them.

Covetiquette dictates you grab your cart, walk it to an open area and do your friggin’ Silkwood hose-down of said cart out of everyone’s path. Manners people. It’s not all about you. Get the hell out of my way.

Grocery shopping was always on my Things I Hate To Do list so I've been doing curbside pickup for my grocery shopping since last fall. I don't do impulse buying that way either so may be saving some money. It does mean I'm not picking out my own produce and sometimes I might have picked a substitution they don't offer but not having to deal with other people or the usual hassle of grocery shopping has been worth it for me.

  • Nothing bad happening there. An artist I really like has a studio store there.  She paints bright happy paintings.
This is one of her paintings I just find so whimsical fun.  And, I do a lot of copying of other's art because I can't afford their work, so may do my own version of this.

LOVE this! And you could so do this. You don't give yourself nearly enough credit for your artistic talent. Sometimes copying someone else's idea is just what you need to give you the practice at the technique to gain confidence to do something else of your own.

I admit I don't pay much attention to art but we have a small gallery here, and they have an annual auction. It kept popping up on fb for me. I absolutely love this piece...starting bid on it was $550 so WAY out of my range but I thought about asking Marti to "copy" it for me. It just reminds me of growing up on the farm.

I’m sure marti has more skillz than i, but it can be quite easy  to copy a work especially if the artist has a web site or youtubes where they might show some of their techniques, products and tips.

I don’t have an artist’s eye;  i have a crafter’s eye.   But thank you for the compliment.  I have a canvas in prep stages as we speak — but it will be to try another one of her types of paintings — cats.  I’m taking her techniques but doing a portrait of my son’s 2 furry boys.

My poor kids. I’m forcing them to make Sophie’s choices when i die. What do i keep, what gets lost?  I’ve created so much stuff over the years.

Agree, DJ is incredibly artistic. It's not talent she is lacking, it's confidence.

Just do it girl. And send me pictures later.

I don't know if this is going to work, possibly it's going to just take you to a normal Google page. (:eye roll: ... I'm not on my phone :D ) In which case y'all can just wait until tomorrow to see what I'm seeing.

Okay, Bev has a blog where he puts up very informative posts.  Which I THOUGHT I was already subscribed to.  It does not appear that I was so I have re-subscribed.  (Bev, if you don't see me subscribing, please let me know.)

  • Brian james freeman has a yummy looking book for his patreon people — Walking With Ghosts, illustrated edition.

So many cemetery dance books, sub press books and  bev’s huge body of work in various books (that should be collected into one massive book) i want.  I want them all.

I wish I was that enlightened at the age of five.  I was too busy getting Edward (a boy crush like no other) to fill his mouth with water from the drinking fountain and bringing it to the sand box and spitting it out so I could build sand castles. Now that's true love and a true story.
