I'll be fine Hedda, I was talking to my daughter earlier and she said it had stopped snowing. If it rains over the weekend it will wash it all away.

Today I am up early - we're going to bowling as usual in about an hour; so I had made the cookie batter yesterday and this morning I am baking a few dozen oatmeal raisin cookies to take with us.

There's a shortage of brown sugar here for some reason so I had to use white sugar - they're not as brown and chewy as I would like but they still taste okay.

....took my beloved on a surprise overnight to Amish Country.....they had a room night package at a quaint little place in Sugarcreek that contained a coupon book for a multitude of merchants....savvy set-up, cuz not only did you get goodies by running to the various locations, but it gave those less acquainted with the area-a good look at the community and what it had to offer....even as familiar as Tracy and I are, we got to see some sights as well and drug home a potpourri of fry pies, summer sausage, candle melts, popcorn and other neat little trinkets and items-PLUS, we bought things at each location-only seemed fair to support the merchants who put themselves out there....

I made banana bread. First time ever. I'm not much of a baker, so it was an experiment. Turned out really well. Next time I'll have to add something to it. Nuts, obviously, although people are suggest chocolate chips, which I'm not sure I would have considered.

It really is delicious with chocolate chips. Especially if you eat it while still warm, or pop a slice into the microwave for a few seconds... and go on, slather on a wee lick of butter too. (The real stuff) 🤤

.  Well I am packing up to drive to Key West for the weekend.  Going to see my baby nephew for the first time!

Also prepping to start a new job on Monday.

What felt like my main thing today was that after lunch i had an enormous blueberry/pistachio ice cream. It was soooo good!

Lovely drive to Key West.  Cozy old Inn with gardens.
Nephew is adorable - 10 months old, big blue eyes and long blonde hair. 

He was terrified of me.

I forgot about all the fancy chickens strolling around. No wonder they used them in Voodoo.  
Big strange chickens and roosters just walking around. Maybe they eat the fat lizards, I don't know.

....so, my perception of the Ohio Amish community was shaken to the core yesterday....as Tracy and I were traversing through their "hood", we got behind one of the infamous buggies, no surprise there-but in this case the driver was seated on the ROOF of the buggy and on the back where the required orange warning placard is located, there is a bumper sticker plastered across it that reads "Don't be a dick!"..... .....a pious piss-off methinks?.....
