I have always wondered about future historians and archaeologists and their sources. Will digital sources be available to them? It demands that you have the equpment that can open the file in question and that is far from a given. We can read the archives from the Babylonians and the Egyptians made but can historians just, say 300 years in the future, read our archives? I'm far from certain about that. Archives today go more and more over to storing documents digitally but what is the point if future historians, our descendants, cant read it? Just a thought.

I've thought similarly. It's also very possible the way we're headed, that there won't be future historians that far distant. The planet will survive, maybe not so human beings.
