  • Hallo, everyone. If you havent heard from me in awhile its because i've been sick. Some kind of flu like thing. Had nightmares about papers floating in to me and i had to finish them before i was allowed to sleep/rest but of course, once i finished one pile a new pile of papers floated in. Strange what you can dream when youre in a fever. Anyway thats behind me now. At the end of March i will be travelling to the US. My nephew is gettting married and invited me to the wedding. But he is a bit crazy i think, he has decided to marry outside on a mountaintop in the Rocky Mountains. Close to a place called Estes Park!! Outside, High up, in March, In the snow!!!!????? A beach i could have understood but a snowy mountain? Oh, well, its their wedding so i guess they do as they like. I'll enjoy it even if i have to dress up a little (I always think i look like a stupid penguin in a suit).

Of course i do but i'm not certain my nephew does. My brother and his wife has read King (even if not all as i have) and she was even on the tour with you'all when the SKMB meeting was in Colorado. It will probably be one or two nights at a hotel or something in Estes Park in connection with the wedding. My brother is doing all the booking so i dont knew where i end up. Planning to try to take some pics, i'm notoriously bad at that, but i'll try. For my nephew it is a beautifully situated place high in the mountains with good facilities to host a wedding reception. He loves snow. And Estes Park is wellknown to him since its reasonably close and the big oart family has sometimes held gatherings there (in the summer when its nice!!)

  • i made a bargain today. Bought a pair of shoes for the wedding but i bought them second hand for 6 US dollars. They are ok. I have tried them and these types of shoes i never wear except for weddings or funerals and things like that. Not often. So i didn't want to buy new ones for between 60 US  and 90 US dollars. I knew they wont win a beauty price but they are acceptable which is good enough for me. I consider it a miracle that they had that kind of shoe in my size.

Good job, Kurben! I always check out the thrift shops here too, especially for something that I might not wear a lot. And these shops always support folks in need or animal shelters, so everybody wins.
I hope you have fun at the wedding and on your holiday. 😊

  • Way to go Kurben! I hope you have a great time. I should have done the same thing and I was thinking about it. I'm becoming a godmother at the end of the month, and I had to get a dress and shoes. I despise shopping so my lazy ass went to Amazon. I'm sure that's going to work out well. :#

  • I've just home after being hospitalized. Went in to ask why i was so bloody exhausted without even getting out of bed. Went to my doctor. He made a quick standard check and called the ambulance! WTH. It was something about the oxygen saturation of the blood was way too low. Is suppusedly to above 95 at my age. I was on 90 and he said if we dont check that immediately it can get worse. Something inside there is wrong. So to the hospital, more tests, an xray of the lungs that showed that the first doctor was correct. Something inside was wrong. I was even on oxygen gas the first day until the antibiotics they gave started to fight the good fight against the thing in my left lung. Spent two nights there and was sent home in a cab since i dont have a relative with car that could drive me. (they paid the cab) Scary when these things happen. I could easily have fallen out of my chair by surprise when my doc told me he was gonna call the ambulance! But when it comes to things like that i accept they know more than me about the subject and listen to their advice.

Oh heck, it sounds like a bout of pneumonia Kurben, an O2 saturation of 90 isn't good, I'm glad your doctor got right onto it. The antibiotics should help a great deal, but if you have fever and trouble breathing or are still feeling exhausted after the course has finished, go back to your doctor. It's possible to have both viral and bacterial pneumonia at the same time, sometimes antibiotics need changing or tweaking. ❤️

Thank you, both you and Flake, fpr your words. Yeah, they identified it through bloodtests and other samples as a viral, not bacterial, variety of Pneumonia. But they say that they think they catched it in good time. The antibiotics should take care of it but i could call or come if it get worse and they dont work. One thing i forgot to ask if antibiotics also make you tired?

Exhaustion is a very normal symptom while your immune system is fighting bugs and also having a lower O2 sat than normal means you're working harder just to oxygenate cells. Listen to your body and rest often. 🙂

  • ...again, Flakers is correct....it's not the antibiotics causing the tiredness, just the "machine" working OT to fend off the viral aggressors....

  • I am lost in days so to speak. I was convinced, 100% rockhard convinced, that it was wednesday today. Then i happened to see (on my laptop) that it is tuesday and was very surprised. Strange how you lose days like that.

Sorry you have to come to America for a wedding.  Keep us posted on your travels. How that goes. I’m guessing since you are a white guy — wait, I don’t know that for sure, are you a white guy? Is that too personal to ask? — anyway, if you are a white guy, you shouldn’t have any problems.
