Now that my friend is impressive, that looks so cool😎
Beautiful!
My pretty lilies. I just love the burgundy color! We started with just one, last year. I am going to have to attempt a transplant for next year. I love them.
Old Iron Bridge Ft Laramie, WY built in 1875, used by military personnel and settlers on the Oregon Trail to cross the river. The river used to be much wider than it is now.
North Platte River, taken from the Bridge
This was a demonstration of cannon fire, at the Fort. This was a nice presentation, talked about the different uniforms worn through the years the Fort was active, the cannons and the different types of shells used, what each person's role was in firing a shot. They did a "dry" run with this cannon then shot one for real out in the field behind. Scared some horses when they did! (Horses were well out of range and to the side, but they did jump around a bit.)
Register Cliff. This is west of the fort, about 15 miles. Settlers on the Oregon Trail would stop here for a brief rest before heading into the mountains and rough(er) travel. Many carved their names and dates into the rock, hence the name. You can still see old ones, but you have to really search. People have continued to carve their names into it over the years. Not allowed anymore, but while it was allowed, it obscured a lot of history, which is a shame.
This is part of the actual Oregon Trail. The many many wagon wheels cut right through the rock to leave these ruts.
Love your beautiful Lilies too.
These are all from the top of Scott's Bluff National Monument. It is hazy from wildfires in the west.
Looking down into the twin cities of Scottsbluff and Gering. The valley where I grew up!
This last one looks to the west. My hometown and my dad's farm is 18 miles in that direction.
