Not much color at Thunder Hill yet, but I've always loved the view from here.

There isn't much color on Thunder Hill because the old receptionist's body hasn't decayed enough to kick in as fertilizer.  That is where the new receptionist buried her, wasn't it?
Thunder Hill, Grandfather Mountain.  I forget.   :D

These are for Scott.  I love old buildings too.
The first one is an old church shelter used when preachers traveled about, preached a day or two and moved on.
The second is Jesse Brown's cabin.  I have no idea who he was or why his cabin has been preserved.

....ahhhh, these are neat!....and here's something I found that might help.....

  • ...nothing spectacular here, but this is just below The Ranch and I found it fascinating that the top tree must have still been green when it came down, and ended up molding itself over the other deadfall.....

  • Here are some pics from Ali's band, taping their submission for the state competition last night. (I did not take these. Lifted them from fb. I took only a couple, but mine were from ground level so not so good.)

You can see Ali in the last picture, she is the short saxophone player at the left edge. 😀

They only ran through it once, it was Wyoming windy and pretty chilly. I think band director would have liked to do it at least once more, but no use, the kids' instruments were not going to get any warmer. They sounded pretty good, looked great. Not sure how long before we know how they did.

Oh and the sky was sure beautiful too! It would have been perfect backdrop if the wind hadn't been howling.

Fantastic Cat, best of luck to them. 💜
(and saxophone practice at home can be...uh, very loud. My partner used to play sax... hmm, we had a bunch of little sleeping kids back then too. Not sure how we survived those nights. 😳🙄)

😀😀 I know it...I played sax, and 3 of the 4 kids, too. Scott just said the other day, "At least she doesn't sound like a screeching mountain lions anymore." 🤣
