BBC Select has a documentary series hosted by Lucy Worsley (i love her) called Killing Sherlock. I would like to see this but alas, I don’t have the service.

If any of you see it, let me know what you think, please.

Ohhhhh, I got to see a clip — Doyle hated Sherlock? Hated the character and how stuck he was writing him?

Did Arthur Conan Doyle eventually kill off Sherlock?  And what are your thoughts on that if he did?

  • Netflix dropped Hostage — Suranne Jones. She is such a terrific actress. I’ve loved her in everything she’s done.

If anyone watches, drop your thoughts please.

  • I'm so glad I went back and watched the first two seasons of FROM again. I remembered quite a bit from S1 but not much from S2 at all. Now I'm ready to dive into S3.

Well, hated might be saying too much but he certainly was very tired of him and wanted to spend his time on other projects. He wrote The adventures and The Memoirs of S.H. and two novels, A study in Scarlet and The Sign Of Four before killing off S.H. in the last short story, The final Solution, in 1893. But he had not expected the public reaction. He got tons of angry letters, A lot of of subscribers to the magazine where he serialized his works were ended because of S.H,s death. He held out for 8 years then wrote The Hound of The Baskerville set before S.H,s fictional  death before giving in completely 2 years later with The Return of S.H. (1903 i think) where the first short story explain how S.H. had faked his death to fool his enemies. After that he wrote a holmes story now and then but i think you can see that the quality the last two collections, His Last Bow and The Casebook of S.H. arent as high as earlier.. Last short story written in 1927. He did not try to kill him again but eventually let him retire on a little place in Sussex. Some stories in Case Book are from his retirement.

    Started DexterResurrection.

Just started 3 and it’s a little slow, but it’s building. I think it’s going to be good. And great choice of music for this New York moody grit.

I am really disappointed they cancelled Original Sin, I thought it was a terrific ensemble and the story was fascinating . But hey, let’s keep
Love, Meghan instead of something worthwhile.

I’m halfway through episode 6 of Dexter and I decided to watch some clips and interviews they provided (which don’t do because I’ve gotten into spoilers) but in these clips, they act like some things are so unique and creative clever to them and I get irritated by that.

A baseball bat with nails is clearly The Walking Dead.

And Prater’s little museum? Not a unique storyline, sorry fellas.

Watch Night Gallery, Rare Objects. Which takes the museum to a whole new and better level.

  • And Peter Dinklage needs to change his clothes. This Dr. Evil/Mini Me outfit is just — I’m over it Dexter writers.

  • Ha. I didn't notice it. Now I'm going to have to look

  • I started watching Katrina.  Oh God, the feeling of dread that I had.  All these people, children - happy saying "big storm coming!!"

Chaotic Documentary Netflix Katrina Come Hell and High

I thought at first it was a documentary about the old band Katrina and the waves....  Seems i was mistaken.

First episode is good. Julia Delpy plays the French president, up for re-election and being forced to the far right. Suranne is the British PM. They don't like each other and the hostage crisis (British citizens in French territory) puts them at even stronger odds with each other.

Sounds good, I have to catch up on all my hanging chads first.

And being totally hypocritical, I started The Thursday Murder Club.  I love these smart, elderly series/movies.

That will be one for my wife and me to watch. I read the book to her a while back.

And this week’s episode Harry Nilsson’s song, Jump Into the Fire, mimicked a Goodfellows scene with Ray Liotta — a very frantic Henry Hill and a very frantic Dexter. Loved the “homage”.

  • I started watching Why Women Kill on Paramount Plus. I'm really enjoying it darkly funny.

  • Finished Ballard. It was good.

Starting Return To Paradise — Britbox.

It is not the RTP of before. It’s gonna take me a bit to appreciate this one I think. The characters didn’t immediately pull me in, but I’m giving it some grace. It’s me. Not them.

  • Great British Baking Show new season!

I don’t what to say.  Why do I get so emotional? I get choked up over these bakers on the British Bake Off. I get more choked up and weepy when someone succeeds than when they fail.

I love when people have a success that means the world to them.

And, who is rendering these creations? The art work of what the bake is supposed to look like?  I love the whimsical drawings.  Who is doing this? A team? They need a shout out.
