Starting The Fervor by Alma Katsu. Liked her The Hunger and her The Deep so has hopes. Started well. She has a knack of taking an historical event and then twisting it a little so dark things come up and face you. n The Hunger it was the crossing of the parairie, in The Deep it was the Titanic and here it is the internment of japanese americans in camps during WW2. Good writer!
I've got that one on my TBR. I really liked The Hunger and The Deep. If you like spy novels, check out Red Widow by her. She was in the CIA for a long time, so it definitely has an authentic feel to it. The sequel is coming out next year too.
Didn't know about Red Widow. Will check it out. Thanks for the tip!!

  • Oh my goodness.   I am 300 pages in to Robert McCammon's 'Swan Song'
I don't know why I have not read this before.  I am late to the game.  I savor every page.

You were the one that introduced Robert McCammon to me.

  • Read some Christie while in Spain. Three Act Tragedy, Evil Under The Sun and The Hollow. Rereads but i think it is amazing that ,considering that she wrote over 80 books in her career, so many of  them are good.

I really need to make this one a priority. I loved Boy's Life, and I know I'll love Swan Song too.

  • Reading Scavenger by David Morrell. Fast paced thriller of a kind he is good at. Hopefully he has some good answers to why these things happen to our heroes but so far its an exciting read.

I'm about a third of the way into it Scott, it's very good, he has a great sense of humour, a very tough life, living hand to mouth.

  • Finished another book in Tana French Dublin Murder Squad murder mysteries - The Trepasser. She does great character stuff and each book interleaves a minor character from the previous and makes them the main character in the next one.

Swan Song makes a great bookend with The Stand.

I also love his Matthew Corbett series - a mix of James Bond and Sherlock Holmes in colonial US.

The Wolf's Hour is a great werewolf American spy in WWII adventure.

The Five is a wonderful book about a rock'n roll band.

So many other excellent books.  Yeah, I'm a big McCammon fan.

Like King, I read everything McCammon puts out.

Many excellent books but somehow A Boys Life is probably my fave.
