That’s a commitment.  I listened to all those hobbity bobbity  books on tape and hated them. I should gave read the books like everyone else. 

These are full cast radio plays Hedda, and it's a great cast so it's far better than a straightforward audio book reading.

They have to be. I was ready to
open a vein if i had to listen to one more elf, orc, hobbit, golem, teletubbie song. Always in the same non existent tune,  the most monotone voice.  It was awful. So i didn’t like the books at all. Loved the movies  though. 

....funny, I don't recall Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa or Po at the Battle of Helm's Deep....they may have disguised themselves(ala Hobbit style)as Riders of Rohan....

...I have read the trilogy over a dozen times, and some of it is a slog in a bog-but I loved it.....different sword strokes for different folks...
