  • Thanks, Gary. That weird little story has had an effect on many readers!
  • I found a From the Borderlands review that I don't think I've seen before

“One of Those Weeks” by Bev Vincent is hands down, without a doubt the best story that From the Borderlands has to offer. This tale of one man’s deteriorating sense of reality is one of the best and most clever pieces of short fiction that I have ever read.
  • I had a neat e-mail today from a grade eleven class in Critical Thinking who has been studying One of Those Weeks and discussing what the ending of the story meant. That is so cool!
  • "One of Those Weeks" is a good, quick read.  We've seen the concept before, but Bev definitely makes it his own in a unique storyline.
  • The first time I was ever in an anthology with King. I used to joke that my story (which appears just before his) had footprints all over it from people rushing past it to get to "Stationary Bike."

Definitely an oddball story of mine. It was inspired by a blog post by the late great Graham Joyce about the fact that he was having a hard time keeping his shoelaces tied.

I love it because it is oddball.  Sort of has a bit of a wibbley wobbley timey wimey feel to it.  Leaves the reader off balance just as much as the character.  So,  good writing to convey that.
