I don't remember the lawn mower, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hobbling on the foot.
Lawn mower in the snow? No I don't know

  • Enjoyed Glass Dome on Netflix. Swedish noir about a woman who is an expert on the psychology of men who kidnap children. She returns to the small town where she was taken when she was young. Shortly after she arrives, yes, you guessed it, a young girl vanishes. Six episodes, a little slow out of the gate, but quite good with some unexpected twists.

  • Towards zero
I'm 2/3 of the way through this one and quite liking it. So glad the incident at the end of episode 1 turned out the way it did.

  • Saw a quite good German drama WW2 series. Unsere Mutter, Unsere Väter (Our Mothers, Out Fathers) that for some reason was called The Young Heroes of the war in swedish. Strange. This is no heroes. 5 young people that grow up together separated by the war. 2 young men in the army, one young man that happens to be jewish trying to persuade his parents that Germany does not want them anymore, his german girlfriend that tries to help him and in the same time persue a career as a singer in Berlin and a young woman who volunteers to be a nurse and is sent to the eastern front. 3 episodes, all of them 90 minutes long. Interesting to see a german viewpoint. They change with their experiences and so do their outlook. Some survive, some dont. i was actually a bit surprised it was this good.

I found out that its called Generation war in english. I also read some critic against it, some was valid (like the depiction of polish resistance i think) but saying it is bad because it did not take up the holocaust more than in passing (The jewish young man escaping from a train headed to Auschwitz) i think is unfair. 20-something germans on the battlefield did not know of the holocaust. It was not something announced. It became known later, after the war what had been done. There were vague rumors and mostly in the city, not so much among the young soldiers. The higher command is different. And it did mention the race laws that were in force at the time.  To commit Rassenschande (To mix the races by having a relationship with a person of another race) would lead to prison sentence. So the relationship between the young jewish man and the german woman was illegal and they are warned by their friends to be very careful. Also the big mass transportations did not begin until 1942 so how could they talk about them when they leave Berlin in the summer of -41. I dont mind critic from historians but i think they are a bit too touchu sometimes. It is a fictional drama series set in WW2, not a documentary about Nazi Germany

  • I love that movie, too.   Also it made me think of "Same time next year" with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn - love that one also.

Same Time Next Year 1978 Movie Trailer - Alan Alda Ellen Burstyn Ivan Bonar
    The Four Seasons

The movie version with Alan Alda et al is one of my favorite movies.  (Alan makes a cameo in new series).

It’s not my movie, but it’s cute.
We thought about watching the original last night but couldn't find it streaming anywhere. Then we watched the trailer on YouTube and decided we were better off not finding it anywhere. It looks horrible all these years later!
Okay guys. The Alan Alda version is on Netflix now.

I'm watching this one, too. What a bunch of loathsome characters. Fun watching Simm get bopped in the schnoz a couple of times.

  • Watched the first 90-minute episode of The Chelsea Detective on Amazon. The series has been around for a while. Only S1 is on Amazon. S2-3 are on Acorn, so I won't get to see them for a while.

Watched this also. Not bad. Entertaining enough.

Of all my streaming services, my favorite is britbox. I love Britbox and have considered Acorn.

  • I was disappointed to see that Priya disappeared after season 1 of Chelsea Detective.

Three episodes of Poker Face. All very good.

We just watched the Elspeth finale. Fun to see all the people she put behind bars.
