I just learned that Irene Cara passed away late last year.....

I watched her first in Fame, the movie from 1980 by Alan Parker and both her singng the titlesong and her acting impressed me. Then she followed up with Flashdance - What a Feeling and  a role as a slave in the tv series Roots. Very talented lady. I will miss her.
