Way back on Stephen King's very first message "thread," I was painting. At the time, I had blue carpet and I was painting the walls yellow.  I dumped a whole can of yellow paint on that blue carpet.  And it was right out in the middle, no way I could hide it even with an odd placed throw rug.  

I went on the message board and was asking people for advice!  I got as much of it up as I could, but that stain was there for a good 2 more years before I replaced everything with tiling.

A friend of mine was painting in a house and the clients dog came in, a big friendly labrador, it knocked a half full bucket of emulsion off a plank and it overturned right on top of the dog covering it in paint. My buddy tried to grab the dog to try and clean it up but the dog had a different idea, it proceeded to run around the house with my buddy chasing after it, paint was everywhere, eventually caught it and brought it out back and turned the hose on it. Took hours to clean up the mess.
