Stephen King Goes to the Movies

In Stephen King Goes to the Movies, the bestselling author reflects on his favorite films derived from his short stories. The book provides King's personal thoughts and behind-the-scenes information on The Shawshank Redemption, 1408, Children of the Corn, The Mangler, and Hearts in Atlantis.

King's first short-story collection in six years, Just After Sunset, is populated with troubled, mysterious characters including a blind girl with a miraculous touch and a mute hitchhiker. Just as the title implies, these stories inhabit a murky, uncertain space that only King can traverse knowingly.

The author also talked about Duma Key, now out in paperback: The creepy, unsettling ghost story is set in otherwise-sunny Florida, and King elaborated on the idea for a more tropical backdrop.
