Bid on Stephen King signed desk

edited November 2006 in General news
The Maine Discovery Museum's annual fundraiser is an auction of benches painted by 75 artists. One of those benches is expected to draw big bucks because it's signed by Bangor's own Stephen King.

The bench looks is made of wood, painted plain black and signed in gold by King. King's bench won't be available at the live auction on Saturday night, it will only be available on the website e-bay.

"We're hoping it will bring lots of course that the name and the uniqueness will bring a lot we really have no way of knowing because it's not a book it's not something that's been out there offered before, so we would love it if it brought in many thousands of dollars for the museum," says Andrea Stark, Executive Director of the Maine Discovery Museum.

The auction and dinner takes place at the Spectacular Events Center on Saturday evening. Tickets are still available. You can also start your bidding online by clicking on the related link.

The bidding for Stephen King's bench will only be available on ebay, starting Thursday.

  • After about a week on EBay, Bangor author Stephen King's signed bench went for a little more than $2,000. Someone in Virginia bought it.

The money goes to the Maine Discovery Museum in downtown Bangor. The King Foundation was one of the original donors to the museum when it began.
