The Lobstrosities
Don't dismiss Stockton's The Lobstrosities as a one-trick gimmick.
Sure, all of the band's songs and its name are based on the "Dark Tower" series of books by Stephen King. But the Lobstrosities also is the closest thing Stockton has to a hard-rock supergroup, and it's among the best, most-energetic live bands from the city.
"It doesn't matter where we go. We could play a hick bar in the middle of nowhere, and we'll get fans," said guitarist Chicago, 24, who was born Aaron Chapdelaine. "We get old people. We get young people. We get every race."
The band is putting the final touches on its first full-length CD, "Roses & Wastelands," which it plans to release in May. It's also continuing to attract fans through its periodic live performances throughout Northern California.
