King in Hollywood
I figured it'd be good to have somewhere for all the King movie news to go, any updates in one big pile. I'm always trying to catch any information or reviews about these projects (e.g. did anyone ever see "The Mangler"?), so I guessed others might be as well.
So.
With Gabriel Byrne and Freddy Prinze Jr. in Dolan's Cadillac, young star Dakota Fanning looking likely to play the lost girl in the adaptation of "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon", and Michael Connelly (not sure if it's the crime author or not, don't think so) writing a new screenplay for a new version of "Pet Sematary", there's a lot going on in SK's world of films.
Any other news? And has anyone read the book " Hollywood's Stephen King" about all his transferred work?

Then, of course, there's Gotham Cafe!
I read Magistrale's book. It's very scholarly. He digs deep for connections among films and significance within particular films. Very enlightening and well thought out.
Blu
P.S. We won't talk about the sequel....
Bev -- Last I heard from Garris it is in pre-production, so minus one pre. ;D
Ummm, which one was Bruce Willis supposed to be in again?
About the only thing the movie had in common with the book was it's title and that it took place in a POW camp. Other than that the story was completely changed with new characters added and the important main characters in the book were gone.
I really, really hated that movie and I really, really loved the book!
It's a fantastic book with an uplifting story that has a Green Mile/ Shawshank Redemption kind of feel to it.
I highly recommend it! But take my advice and never watch the movie!!!!
So that's why I'm just a wee bit concerned when I see Bruce Willis in conjuction with Bag of Bones....the very thought makes me really uncomfortable!
Beacon Pictures is making the movie adaptation of F. Paul Wilson's most popular character "Repairman Jack". As far as I have heard, it's going to be an adaptation of "The Tomb", but no firm word on cast or crew yet.
I hope they get Jack right, or Wilson fans everywhere will go nuts.
