Not sure what I think about this! Comments anyone? ? ?

  • I'm not so crazy about this. It's typical these days to remake good movies, instead of the bad ones. There's a remake done of my favorite John Carpenter-movie, The Fog. Jesus!

But back to King: Why not remake such lesser adaptations like The Running Man, Graveyard Shift, The Mangler, Children of the Corn, even Maximum Overdrive (I don't really count "Trucks" a remake per se)? Because Hollywood is a place for braindeads. Why remake something so cool and original as Creepshow?

And, James Dudelson who own the rights for this one, is also the man behind the new Creepshow 3...haven't seen that yet, but from what I've heard it seems like the whole Creepshow franchise/phenomenon will end up tasting like poop in our mouths.
  • Lets just hope they use material from King in this one and not just the name as they do with Creepshow 3.

    Lilja
  • Well, it is clearly a remake of the first one, so we will again see Jordy Verrill, The Crate, etc...but the plan to link these stories in that way, that Verrill may pop up, say, in They're Creeping Up On You. That's insane!

If they could only leave this one alone, and make a TV-series instead (like Nightmares & Dreamscapes), based on King's EC-similar tales, for example the never filmed "Pinfall."
  • Creepshow 3, the second sequel to the George Romero/Stephen King classic horror anthology, has launched an all NEW website. The new website features teasers for all five new stories, an extensive character menu, downloadable wallpapers - including stills from the film and official posters - and an interactive message board that allows users to ask THE CREEP questions about the new film.

In the coming months http://www.creepshow3.com/ will be updated with exclusive media, on-line store featuring Creepshow apparel and gifts, and contests for limited edition Creepshow memorabilia.

Creepshow 3 was filmed during late Summer 2005 on the Universal Studios back lot and is in post-production, currently having CGI effects and animation being created by 23D studios (The Simpson's, Underworld),one of the top animation studios in Hollywood.

  • Kids at heart like yours truly will flip upon visiting Creepyfilms' brand new website for their upcoming sequel to those 80's Anthology classic created by genre masters Stephen King and George Romero. Although the latter 2 aren't likely involved, the whole thing will still look quite juicy to fans of the originals.

Launched over the week-end, the site features a host of goodies, from story synopsis to character profiles and pictures. The new film, sporting a cast of unknown actors (which to my sense adds to the creepiness of a good chill-tale) will feature 5 new stories, entitled "Alice", "Rachel The Call Girl", "Professor Dayton's Wife", "The Haunted Dog" and "The Radio".

Plans are to release the movie directly on DVD mid-2006
  • Of course I will see this but I don't think it will be something that many people will yell hooray about. It looks cheesy, not very much Creepshow-ish, more like some twisted kids stuff, but at least it will probably be a funny little time-killer.

It's okay that there's no well-known actors, but here's hoping they will not suck!

  • From MoviesOnline:

Scott Dudelson dropped us a line to let us know that a new trailer for CreepShow 3 is online. The new trailer is for the episode "Rachel the Call Girl" The third installment to the George Romero/Stephen King original, this time directed by James Dudelson and Ana Clavell ("Day of the Dead 2: Contagium"). Just to go on the record George Romero has nothing to do with this movie, whether that is good or bad you can decide. Check out the new trailer by clicking on the poster and going to MEDIA.

The film is based on the format of the orginal, featuring five new creepy and campy stories to add to the already classic anthology.

ALICE: Alice is a snotty sixteen year old with an attitude problem, particularly towards her oddball neighbor Professor Dayton, an inventor and, quite possibly, a mad scientist. Then her Dad buys a strange remote control that seems to affect time and space. Everytime her Dad presses a button the real world changes, and so does she, all for the worse… Is Alice getting her just rewards or is it just her perception of things?

RACHEL THE CALL GIRL: Rachael is a sexy, savvy, serial killer with a taste for men looking for paid sex. Victor is a sexy, savvy vampire with a taste for call girls. A match of titans?

PROFESSOR DAYTON'S WIFE: A lifelong bachelor, Professor Dayton announces he’s going to get married. He’s such a prankster nobody believes him at first, including his two favorite students, John and Charles. Then they meet his fiancée Kathy – a perfect young blonde with a sexy accent- and they have no doubt that he’s pulling their leg –again. They decide it’s their turn to pull a fast one on the joke-seeking professor, and they set out to dismantle Kathy.

THE HAUNTED DOG: Dr. Farwell has no bedside manners. As a matter of fact he doesn’t give a damn about his patients: all he cares about is partying! His uncaring ways get him into supernatural trouble when he unwittingly causes the death of a transient, Cliffie, with a contaminated hot dog. From that moment on he has no peace as Cliffie starts haunting him around the clock. Then again, the good doc may be taking too many self-prescribed medications?

THE RADIO: Jerry is a part-time security guard, full-time loser. He has no goals or dreams other than drink himself senseless and listen to the game on the radio. When his radio breaks down he buys a used one from a street vendor. He soon discovers that this is not ordinary radio. Not only can it have a conversation with him but it can tell him how to get wealthy. Jerry obeys his new "friend", to the point he does truly terrible things. Yet his undoing may not be his bad actions but his crush for Eva, a prostitute.

The DVD arrives unrated with an anamorphic widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital 2.0 audio. Extras will include behind-the-scenes interviews with directors Ana Clavell & James Glenn Dudelson and make-up artist Greg McDougall. Retail is $19.98.
  • From Fangoria:

We spoke to DVD/supplements producer Michael Felsher (pictured) here about his work on the upcoming MONSTER SQUAD DVD, and he also gave Fango the scoop on another ’80s horror fave he’s contributing to: a new, extras-packed disc of the George A. Romero/Stephen King anthology chiller CREEPSHOW for British release by Universal. “I’ve known George for years,” Felsher explains. “I used to work at Anchor Bay, and collaborated with him on projects there like DAWN OF THE DEAD, and I’m also supervising all the behind-the-scenes stuff on his new DIARY OF THE DEAD. He has always said he would love to see CREEPSHOW come back out. I found out that Universal has the UK rights, and was preparing to come out with a disc that was kind of bare-bones. So I sent them a proposal, and they called that release off and hired me to do the special edition for the UK. The plan is to have it out before Halloween of this year.”

Among the supplements Felsher is putting together is, of course, a commentary by Romero and FX creator Tom Savini. “It was very enjoyable,” Felsher says of that recording experience. “It was George and Tom going back down memory lane in George’s living room, so they had a great time. I’m also making a documentary, and have been shooting people all over the place for that; the plan is to include as many people who were involved in the film as possible.”

One interviewee yielded an unexpected bonus for the project, as Felsher relates: “A couple of days ago, my cameraman and I interviewed Rick Catizone, who did the animated segments with the comic-book clippings, the Creep and all that. We got there to interview him, and he was a wonderful guy, and he brought some stuff he had in storage. He whipped out original hand-painted cels from CREEPSHOW, and I was just flipping out! And then he pulled out the original hand-colored comic book pages from the shots where you see the comic flip open. That was the kind of moment where your brain just short-circuits and you pass out. So we’ve got photos of all that stuff, plus footage of a scene where Ted Danson’s severed hand comes after Leslie Nielsen that was cut out of the film…it’s going to be good!”

Like the MONSTER SQUAD disc, the new edition of CREEPSHOW is a personal project for the longtime fright fan. “CREEPSHOW was the first horror movie I ever saw, and George is my all-time favorite filmmaker,” he says. “I’m constantly thinking, ‘Just how is it that I’m working on this and MONSTER SQUAD and all these movies I’ve loved throughout the years?’ I was lucky that I worked on DIARY OF THE DEAD, because I met the cameraman I’ve been working with on these projects, and he’s been doing a wonderful job. It’s just too damn good to be true.”
