Shawshank: coming to a phone near you
The first ever full-length feature film has been made available for viewing on a mobile phone in a deal between mobile handset manufacturer Nokia, Rok Entertainment and UK TV channel ITV's licencing division, Granada Ventures.
The Shawshank Redemption, a prison genre flick starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins and based on a short story by horror writer Stephen King, is available as a digital chip licensed by Rok Player. The chip is inserted into phones with multimedia-card ports.
The film costs €32 (£16.99) and can be bought from high-street mobile dealerships and over the web via the Rok Player website.

A great idea, but wouldn't it really hurt the eyes watching a movie on so small a screen?
