There was not.  As the Virginia Tech incident happened just last week, the only issue SK's essay about it could appear in is the current (i.e. 4/27-5/4) one.  Perhaps it may appear in a future issue, but it might be too old by then.

I like the books, not crazy about them, but they are pretty good. If I had been a kid when they came out the appeal might have been stronger. Probably a deficiency on my part and not Rowling's. Getting older and more cynical I guess.
