King's sons

edited April 2005 in General news
Horrormeister Stephen King's sons are joining the family biz with a scary screenplay they just sold about a Boston police detective.

Details are sketchy, but we hear Joseph and Owen King - whose script, Fade Away, has been optioned by Working Title Films - popped into Boston police headquarters the other day to check out where cops do their thing.

"They were joking that maybe they should have come in before writing the script,'' said a spy in One Schroeder Plaza. "They said now they may have to make some changes.''

The story reportedly is about a Hub detective who dies and goes to purgatory, where he runs into many of the skels he dealt with during his life on Earth. Well, it seems as though the literary apples don't fall far from the tree!

The Shining stars of the King clan - Joe is 31 and Owen is 26 - aren't exactly new to the author schtick. Owen has a collection of stories slated to be released by Bloomsbury USA this summer.

The Kings' Tinseltown agent, Jeff Sanford, didn't return calls yesterday.
