The first 15 minutes of Desperation

edited April 2005 in General news
Hi

Really Scary has a report from the exclusive sneak peek at the first 15 minutes of Desperation that was shown at the World Horror Con in NYC. And judging from their description of the 15 minutes it seams to be very true to the book. Read their entire report. More info here:

  • I was there for the screening, too. Actually, something I couldn't mention before I left was that Matt Schwartz from Shocklines, who was the programme organizer, asked me to do the public Q&A session with Mick Garris during the convention, so I got to sit down with him one-on-one in front of an audience and spend an hour talking about his projects, past and present. It was a lot of fun!

This was the first time anyone outside of ABC and Stephen King got to see any part of Desperation. The movie has been "locked" but the sound was temporary and there was no score yet. It looks great! Ron Perlman IS Collie Entragian. The opening shows the Mary and Peter Jackson storyline and is absolutely faithful to the novel. The dialog has a couple of updated cultural references (Peter Jackson? I loved Lord of the Rings!) but otherwise it was exactly as I imagined it. The China Pit mine is awesome, the deep wound in the countryside.
