Where is Gordie L. now?

edited March 2005 in General news
Tonight on CSI the murder suspect might look familiar. Two decasdes ago Wil Wheaton played Gordie on Stand By Me! For the whole story see here.

  • Ironic, since there was a large contingent of Star Trek fans who would have loved to see him as a murder victim back in the Next Generation days!

    :DSo true!
  • Actually, rumor has it that he's turned into quite a creditable writer.

Further information, this deponent knoweth not.
  • Here's a good place to start if you want to find out what Wil Wheaton is up to these days!

I'll be checking out CSI tonight, so I'll see if Mr. Wil is just a little less annoying than he was on ST/TNG. :D At least he had a cool mom!

  • It may be more due to the way Wesley Crusher has been scripted in ST-TNG and his attitude as a teenager at the time than anything else, just like he said. I've always like his portrayal of Gordie in Stand By Me, a perfect foil for River Phoenix's take on Chris Chambers.
  • Well Wheaton was unrecognizable with the mop of hair he had. The part was very small as well.
  • Typecast, I tell you. The poor actor always plays the same old thing!

Seriously, it was a small part, but interesting. His voice is much deeper than before. And dig the hair.
  • I think he needed a bigger part. He did make me laugh, though. Stand by Me was a great fick. Wheaton,Feldman, Sutherland, and Phoenix give GREAT performances. -CQ

sunny, :), don't be so serious. If you had a teenage son like Wesley Crusher he would have driven you insane. :D I totally love Stand by Me and his role in it. Unfortunately Mr. FurnaceFellow had to visit last night and I missed his performance on CSI. I'll have to watch for it on re-run.
