  • Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release a Deluxe and Special Edition of Stand By Me, one of the few Stephen King film adaptations that worked, on March 22. Both will feature a newly-remastered audio and video, while the Deluxe Edition will come with a bonus CD with the soundtrack.

The 1986 film featured Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Jerry O'Connell as four boys searching for a missing teenager's body so they can be heroes in each other's and their hometown's eyes. It's based on the king novella The Body.

The Special Edition will sell for $19.94 and feature:

    • Exclusive Featurette "Walking the Tracks: The Summer of STAND BY ME including interviews with Stephen King and Rob Reiner
    • Director Rob Reiner's commentary
    • "Stand By Me" music video
    • Isolated music score
    • Bonus trailers
    • Talent files
    • Production Notes

The Deluxe Edition will sell for $24.96 and have the same extras as the Special Edition, plus the music CD with the film soundtrack.
  • I have the first DVD and the soundtrack on vinyl so I think I'll skip the deluxe edition.
