Riding the Bullet news

edited January 2005 in General news
Hi

Mick Garris just let me know that Riding the Bullet will premier on USANetwork on Sunday, January 23rd. You can see the entire schedule on their site. The movie will be edited for television though.

Mick also told me that Lions Gate will be releasing the uncut film (which is rated R) later this year. They are just now starting to assemble stuff for the DVD.

  • Here is the USA web page for RtB.
  • I was going to ask someone to tape this for me, but Mick tells me USA cut 10-15 valuable minutes from the film and recommends waiting for the DVD, which I am content to do.
  • When is the DVD due out?

I did watch last night and I liked it. Alan's conscience was pretty cool! Glossing over the language was very annoying though!

    I'll definitely get the DVD.
  • I haven't seen a firm release date yet, but I think I heard May being bandied about at some point. It's supposed to be R-rated.
  • Good to hear you liked it Bob. I will keep an eye out for the DVD as well.
  • I caught this last night also - liked it enough to want to see it again uncensored. The little muting thing got a little bothersome especially during a couple of scenes.

It will be interesting to see what was cut... looking forward to it. :)
  • Being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I watched the football game last night instead of Riding the Bullet.  After the game, I was REALLY regretting that decision (for you non-football fans, Pittsburgh got stomped!), but from the comments above, I'm glad I didn't watch it--I'll wait for the DVD.

Car model and year: 1960 Plymouth Fury.

    Colour: Red and white.

    Owner: Dorothy Miller of Chilliwack.

Paid: My dad traded a motorcycle for it in 1985!

Good deal? My dad thought it was a great deal.

Dealership: No idea -- the car came from Arizona.

I love my car because . . . It was always fun going with my parents for drives to get ice cream in it at the Dairy Queen and listening to Buddy Holly. My brother was so embarrassed of the car he would hide in the back seat so no one would see him. My dad had not driven this car since 1991, so we got it last summer and love driving it around town. I rented it to a movie company last October and it was used as the feature car in Stephen King's Riding the Bullet.
  • Mick Garris will be signing Riding the Bullet DVDs at Dark Delicacies bookstore in Burbank, CA, at 2 p.m, Saturday, April 23. Darl Delicacies is located at 4213 W. Burbank Blvd and can be reached online at http://www.darkdel.com or by phone at 1-888-DARKDEL.

Mick will also be a special guest at the 2005 World Horror Convention (http://www.whc2005.org) to be held April 7-10 in New York City.

    Thanks to Jonathan Reitan.
