USA Today the Red Sox

edited October 2004 in General news
USA Today will have an article about the Red Sox featuring Stephen King in tomorrow's issue. It supposed to be on the front cover. I'm supposed to be quoted in it (have no idea which quote the journalist picked!) because I gave him some background on King's history as a Red Sox fan.

  • I'll have to pick it up tomorrow! Thanks - otherwise I might not even look at teh stand in teh cafeteria here that has the USA Todays!
  • A team a horror writer could love.

Though I'm only quoted directly once, a fair amount of the background came from my e-mail to Minzesheimer.
  • Twas a great article Bev and nice to see you quoted!

I really liked O'Nan's and King's conversation that went:

"Stewart, it's a trifecta," King said. "The Red Sox are getting shelled. It's a no-hitter. And it's raining."

"But we've got great seats," O'Nan replied. "Stewart," King shot back. "That's the logic of someone driving by a traffic accident who has a clear, unobstructed view of the victims."

  • Good article and cool to see you quoted Bev.

I was wondering were he got his info from for the article because it was surprisingly accurate with good summary points. Figures it came from you!
  • I was surprised that King addressed the O'Nan "Speed Queen" issue so directly. A very good article overall. I'm glad Mr. Minzesheimer's time at the ball game produced more than the brief interview a couple of weeks ago.
  • I picked the paper up this morning also - read the article and loved it. It had great quotes and was just very well written, in my opinion. Way to go in getting your name out there again, Bev! ;D
  • Congrats on the quote, Bev - you're becoming a USA Today regular!

How is "Speed Queen," by the way? I vaguely remember hearing about the naming controversey, but never followed it very closely. Worth reading?
