Dark Tower VII Signed Artist Editions and Trades!

edited August 2004 in General news
Don't know if any of you receive Michael Whelan's (artist of Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger and Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower) newsletter, but I recently received an e-mail stating that Michael Whelan's website is selling "Artist Signed" copies of Dark Tower VII. They're taking orders now and the books will be shipped on or after the release date. Just go to the following website:

www.michaelwhelan.com

Once on the main page, click on the tab that says "Shop our Store" and then click on the Dark Tower VII link.

The prices for the various editions are as follows:

Trade Hardcover: $40.00 (Order all you want)

Donald M. Grant Artist Edition: $95.00 (Limit ONE per Customer)

Donald M. Grant Artist Edition: $250.00 (SOLD OUT)

(with pen and ink sketch hand drawn by Michael Whelan, limited to only 19 copies, Sold Out!)

They only made 19 copies of the Artist Edition signed by Michael Whelan with the pen and ink sketches, which is why they sold out so quick...

Still, this is an awesome opportunity if you're not able to buy an Artist Edition from Grant (or if you just want the AE without having to buy the Talisman/Blackhouse/Dark Tower VII combo from them)

  • 19 copies of the Artist Edition?? They are taking this 19 thing way too far ;D
  • I just got word from Michael Whelan's site that all the Artist's editions are sold out!

    John
  • Yeah man. To be expected when they printed only 19 copies ;D

Told ya they are goin too far with this 19 thing ;D
  • I think he meant that the regular signed artist edition was sold out. They had something like 5000 of those. The ones limited to 19 were the ones that were signed and had a personal sketch as well.
  • :-[ :-[ :-[

    Forgive??

    ;D
  • I suppose...
  • Sorry I wasn't clearer in my first post--Whelan had 19 copies that included a sketch and a number of Grant Artist's Editions that included a print of an alternative cover concept. All these are now sold out.

    John
  • Anyone know if there is a way that those of us who aren't going to be spending this money can see the alternative cover idea?
  • Write to Lilja ;D

    But seriously, e-mail him.
  • Each of the 19 "sketchbooks" is going to have a different sketch done in it. I know of a couple of people that ordered copies, so when I get mine in, if Lilja wants them, I'll post pics of mine and everyone else's that I can find.
  • That would be great! I'd like to see what I missed out on! :D
  • Bummer. If only I thought of looking on the Artists web site!!!! I was wasting my time on the DMG website and friggen ebay where they are selling what they dont have and cant garantee you'll get it.

Anyplace else we can get the Signed coppies from?
  • You might still be able to get signed trade editions from the artist's site... I know I've ordered one.  Link to the site is up above in the first post.
