edited August 2004 in General news
Yay, I got KH on DVD today. Now I can watch the whole thing, probably not in one sitting, though.

  • Peter, just out of curiousity and putting two and two together, are you DanishReader from The Green Mile? :)

If so, welcome, you should drop by more often! :)

    Lin (KingRules2 on the Mile)
  • Hi Lin. Yep, it's me, and I recognize you too. I wish I could post more often, because besides keeping track with two very excellent boards (this one and Green Mile), I'm almost always too busy to really hang out and talk.

Were you on the Maine-trip? I followed that "online journal" as much as I could. And I got so jealous, but then again I got some nice things from Betts' Bookstore (dear Nille was my buyer and carrier:)

(And Bev, if you're reading this, I got one issue of CD with your column in it. It's from around New Year...you review certain things, like "Stationary Bike." Great!)

But cool to see you here, too, Lin. I wonder if some of the other Milers peeks in here, too.
  • :) Well, I guess I can call you Peter here! I know what you mean about trying to keep up, I belong to six boards, but I only post regularly (very regularly as you can see by my "numbers") here and on The Green Mile. The others are not quite as "busy", but they are fun and special to my heart nonetheless for different reasons. 8)

I was on the Maine trip very fortunately! Both Lin's Steve (he's on the Mile as well, his name is Heat Kitchen here) and I were lucky enough to be able to go. I cannot even tell you how awesome it was to meet Nille because she has been one of my dearest friends over the past two years on the Mile and elsewhere. She is one cool girl, I can tell you and so very funny. :)

It was the SKEMERs that so kindly provided us with the CD magazines and other little goodies, I'm glad you were able to get one - we had plenty!

There are a number of Milers here Peter -- myself, IT (Kay), Steve, Nille, AuntyNay, Strawberry13 (Berry), Poobaloo, sybil, Marcy, and a few others. Not everyone posts all the time, but they are present! :)

Anyways, Steve is like totally sick in bed, my son is out with his girlfriend, so I'm just taking advantage (again) of his computer.

Hope you will drop by more often, we have a lot of interesting discussions in the Free for All as well.

    Lin
  • I didn't know some many Milers lurked here. But I'm here every day, as I am on the Mile, mostly checking out news. Especially about The Dark Tower.

BTW, on DarkTower.net the full chapter list for The Dark Tower has been revealed. It's spoilerish to some extende, but I couldn't help myself. Can't wait for that book.
  • :) I didn't add Bev in the mix, because this is his place and all, but he's a Miler of course! ;D

Don't try and tempt me into anything about DTVII.. I am currently on the DTVII Anti-Spoiler Plan. ;)

    Lin
  • Peter,

Is it the full chapter list?

The last time I checked, not all the chapter list were posted. The guy hold back on two or three chapter titles that he considered too Spoilerish and will very obviously give away part of what has become 'main discussion questions' in the DT series. So it is in fact still fairly save.

The last time I checked of course. Things changed very fast  ;D

  • My mistake. Check again today and the full chapter list has been posted. But the guy is taking great care not to spoil it for every one (good for him!) : you have to highlight a portion of the page to read it.

    And I read it ;D

Interesting, not that spoilerrific as might be expected but the Epilogue title is said to be spoilerish if you've read through the first half of the book so the best way come Sept 21 is not to read the Chapter list first when you get the book ;D.
  • Yep this is where I draw the line - no chapter lists!

I know, I know, my track record is abysmal!
  • I strongly recommend you avoid the chapter list. There are some strong hints as to the course of the story therein.
  • Bev,

This may be kinda funny but why didn't they consider publishing the Chapter List at the back of the book as an appendix of sort. At least it will make the book a whole lot unique, one of a kind, the only one where you read the Chapter List after the story and the whole picture becomes much more clearer ;D

I dunno. I pretty much ignore chapter lists, figure lists and even chapter titles when I read.
  • Fair enough ;D

Thanks for the advice. The chapter list is firmly off limits.

Works for me! ;) Any little thing that helps avoid the temptation. I think I'm doing extremely well.

    Lin
  • I come here, read everyone elses' panic and fears... and I feel better. That alleviates any temptations I might have. ;D
  • Be afraid, be very afraid. ;D

So do I - atleast first time round - makes you feel bad for the authors who do more than number their chapters, but I just wanna get on with the story
