Taken off the stephenking.com message board:
Being a major NY Yankee (Bronx Bomber) fan this makes me feel better! ;D
i was wndering if mr. king is one of those boston red sox fans who hate yankee fans. i am a yankee fan and don’t hate boston fans so it is possible for yankee and red sox fans to live with out fights.
Response from Moderator:

Here are the current standings:

Basically, it seems that the two best teams at the moment are St. Louis and the NY Yanks. It does change from year to year, but not a whole lot (which is one of the reasons I am not a huge baseball fan).
Yep, I read about the stadium proposal a week ago. Personally, I think that Yankee Stadium should be left as is - its a tradition in The Bronx!
That sentence is very awkwardly written, but I don't really have the time to fix it right now.
Thanks New!
Seems like SK's favorite team is not doing too bad as well.
But is there a difference between the American League and the National League??
And the way they calculated the standings is also turning my head around ;D
Nomar - Nomore ;D
Will be interesting to see O'Nan's and King's opinion on the mid season trade in their upcoming book!
Sunny, to answer your question, there is a different between the American and National Leagues. They have a slightly different rule, in that in the AL they use a designated hitter (the pitcher doesn't bat) and the NL doesn't. Also, it used to be that the AL and NL teams would never play each other during the season and they would only meet in the world series. A few years back, however, they added some games between they leagues in the regular season. Personally, I don't think that they should have added them and I don't like the designated hitter rule. I think it takes away a lot of the strategy that I like in the game. I follow the NL teams more than the AL teams. That all being said, there are other sports that I follow more than baseball.
sunny, I see new has given you an excellent recap of the differences between the National League and the American League teams... I don't like the DH rule either. sunny, in the National League where they don't implement the DH rule, they CAN send in a "pinch" hitter for the pitcher, but then cannot bring him back into the game. Kind of a double-edged sword, but useful if the pitcher is ready to come out I guess.

Not to mention looking up the net for other infos concerning baseball
But thanks a lot for all the help and explanation you've given me, especially New and Lin. Trust me, I will succeed in catching up with all of you ;D
And what are those New? Dodgeball? ;D
Lin
;D Heh heh
Figures.
Back in the day when my boys were Cub Scouts we always planned an overnighter (we called it a lockin) at the local rec center and the kids always stayed up all night long. We always ended up with a massive dodgeball game of adults against the kids. Seems unfair right - yep it is - those kids a ruthless.
Picture this. 50 or 60 kids on one side of the gym and 5 adults on the other side. Logistically, the adults had no choice but to lose. Course if'n you were fast you could stay in the game to the bitter end but then you'd be too tired to compete in the next round! :o
