newby-question about Paul in KH

Hello everyone. I am new to the group. Just joined today and already have KH withdrawal. I can't wait to buy the DVD in October.



I was able to watch the whole 13 week series of KH and loved every minute of it. Can anyone tell me why Paul and Mary were enemies? Was this explained and I just missed it? Thanks. ???

You know, I'm not sure of the Paul and Mary stuff myself because I found that part a little confusing but there were two Pauls one good and one bad. Although I think they were both a part of one personality namely Antubus who was what....the gatekeeper or something of that nature?



I'm sure someone else has a better answer for you than I, but I really just wanted to say hello and Welcome.

Hi Tinman! I'm just saying hi and welcome also! The Paul-Paul stuff is a little confusing -- all I know is that good Paul (in my understanding) was noted to be Antubis in "human" form, a Paul that Mary could "endure". Doesn't explain everything though, now does it?



My better half Steve (Heat Kitchen on this board) and I enjoyed the series very much and I think the dvd may find it's way to my Christmas wish list.

Thanks so much for the nice welcome. I did notice the resemblace in good Paul/bad Paul, but didn't feel it was explained well. Also, if I may, why was he a vamp? Oh well, I'm still having "Angel" withdrawal too. They cancel all the good shows or don't make them long enough.

I sure can't explain it, but I read the Journals and I know that both Paul and Mary were victims of the doctor.

Paul is both terrible and beautiful according to Mary. He's Anubis/Antubis, the gatekeeper between worlds, and seems to have dual/multiple aspects. I think he's deliberately ambiguous.

OK, look, the good Paul isn't Paul, he is Anubis the Egyptain god of death and emblaming. He only looks like Paul because that is what Mary wants to see, Paul good! She calls him Antibus because she missunderstood him when he told her his name and now sees him in the image that she thinks he is.

If that doesn't clear anything up I don't know what will.

I'm guessing that Paul and Mary are enemies because Paul is evil, malevolet and he wants things his way and with Mary, and Atibus in the way he can't.
