A couple years ago, an old boyfriend of mine died. I wrote this tribute to him, (i shared it with two people who knew him and me when we dated) based on truth but spun with a naive romanticism, magic and myth and genuine affection. It was so good. And I thought, no man will ever write something so beautiful like that about me when I die. 

It’s a bummer. I hope you all have someone who touched your life, no matter how briefly but did so importantly. A person that you will write about and who will write about you in a magical, mythical way.  And through that, you will live on.
