Comments

  • What did you think of The Fireman?
  • I'm still reading it -- about 1/3 of the way through. It is LONG -- over 700 pages.
  • Surprised by that; Amazon had it listed at 384 pages.  It's now been changed to 608.
  • That's great to hear!  Love long books.
  • My electronic galley is 713 pages
  • Easily his best book to date. I look forward to reading it again under less frenetic circumstances a few months down the line.
  • Great to hear!
  • Following up my post of 1/30:  Amazon now lists "The Fireman" at 768 pages.

  • Updated -- I'm actually reading a lot more than I've posted, but most of it is as judge for the Shirley Jackson Awards, so I won't post that stuff here. Not yet, at least. A lot of anthologies at the moment.
  • Hope you're having fun!

  • The big part of the process is nearly done -- we nominate this weekend. I've read a LOT of short stories over the past few months. A lot!
  • Short stories certainly do have their attractions but overall I still prefer deep diving into a book and becoming absorbed into another world and the characters that inhabit it.
  • Hey Bev, noticed this book in your list -

Dollar Deal: The Stephen King Dollar Baby Filmmakers -  Shawn S.Lealos

    Worth a read?
  • I found it interesting, although he asks the exact same questions of all of the contributors, so it is probably best read a bit at a time rather than all at once.
  • I FINALLY finished book 5 of Game of Thrones! And the Dunk & Egg stories.
  • GOT ended with Book 4 for me. Too much of a slog and with the show ahead of the books, my desire to finish them has lessened even further.
