  • I’ve seen the first four episodes. It’s a gorgeous series that doesn’t pull any punches. Very faithful to the novel.

This looks amazing!  Will there be a way to watch for non-Apple TV folks?

Option 2: Upgrade an apple device -- you get a year free
Option 3: Possibly a DVD release at some point

  • Stephen King Breaks Down His New Miniseries ‘Lisey’s Story’

“I wanted to tell the story that was in the book,” says King, who wrote the screenplay himself, “but I wanted to make it better”

Lisey’s Story is one of my least favorite King’s. But listening to him quietly speak about it — his truth of it — no sideshow pizazzery, no dancing bear he’s always forced to be — it made me very hopeful for the series.

He comments he wants to make it better — and I believe him. I believe it’s going to be…magic.

Saw your write-up on CD this morning Bev. Excellent write-up, looking forward to seeing this. Great to see Joan Allen getting a good turn in a King project after she was badly served in A Good Marriage - IMO.

The reviews have been unenthusiastic thus far, but I really enjoyed it, and I am thoroughly impressed by the way it looks on the screen. If you liked the novel, I'm sure you'll love this. If you didn't -- well, it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

..well done sir...as always....and as an amateur paranormal devotee, the idea of water is one of otherwordly power....nice to see the intended or not tip of the hat....

  • ...we've watched the first two episodes, and have been impressed for the most part...the videography is rich and clean...quick flips between time and events took a bit of getting used to...acting is top shelf....Booya Moon is as I'd imagined, but so far the Long Boy ain't worth a tinkers fart.....the Easter eggs I've seen have been fun, sure I've missed a ton....and one other thing....are Brady Hartsfield and Dooley punched from the same DNA?....nearly identical pinched up weasley faces...don't get me wrong, both actors sell the hell out of the wing nut factor, just the physical characteristics gave me pause....

  • They are teasing the Long Boy, but you'll get a much closer look at it in later episodes and it is reeeeeaaaalllly creeeppppy!

  • It's beautiful.
I need to reread this story because I think I missed what he was trying to tell us first time around.
My life is not quite the same as it was back then, I might be ready to listen now.

This is one of his books where the reader needs a certain amount of life experiences before the story becomes clear in its concepts.  Many either loved it or hates it upon first publication, only   to find in later life it felt different. Enjoy a re read, Flake.
