  • I hope he's better than Campbell Scott was on The Shining. Ever since the loss of Frank Muller, King's audiobooks haven't been the same. Having said that, George Guidell did a pretty good job of stepping in on the final DT books.
  • I can't imagine what a task it must have been to read IT aloud. Makes me hoarse just thinking about it.
  • I went to the Penguin Press site and discovered that 10 new SK audiobooks are coming out, in this schedule:

April 1: The Long Walk, Firestarter, Cujo, Roadwork, The Running Man

May 13: Christine, It, The Eyes of the Dragon, The Tommyknockers, The Dark Half

That's quite a lot of listening!  I've already got the first half of this list on hold at the library, so I guess I've scheduled my April. ;)

EDIT:  I originally went to the site just to see how long It was, and it's truly a doozy--45 hours on 35 discs.
  • When I was traveling for work a lot (average 30,000-50,000 miles in my car a year) I loved the audio tapes. Now that I'm not working anymore, I find I don't listen to them at all. I really miss it, but I just can't find the time to devote to them.

  • My commute is only 2 miles, so it takes me forever to listen to a book, but I've done a few over the years.
